also found it ironic that they said in the article that there'd be no new top gear on Sunday, which is funny in itself. they've had 6 episodes this season haven't they? mamoru.gif

F1 driver's Aust GP legal bid in limbo

A Formula One driver's bid to force Swiss team Sauber to allow him to race in the Australian Grand Prix is in limbo.

Giedo van der Garde won a court decision to force F1 team Sauber to reinstate him after they dumped him - but Sauber appealed in the Supreme Court of Victoria.

The court gave Sauber leave to appeal on Thursday, meaning Mr van der Garde's fate will be known before practice races start at Melbourne Park on Friday.

Mr van der Garde won his effort to claim one of two driving spots on Wednesday morning, but his bid is on hold again until the appeal is heard.

Sauber's lawyer Rodney Garratt QC argued the team did not have enough time to safely fit Mr van der Garde into the car.

Mr van der Garde was still confident the court would rule in his favour.

"We'll see what comes out tomorrow and I'm still hopeful," he told reporters outside court.

Sauber has argued Mr van der Garde would be an unacceptable death risk on the track, given he has not trained in the team's car and was not fitted for a custom seat.

Sauber said the seat fitting process took two weeks, but Mr van der Garde's lawyer Tom Clarke told the court this week the process could be done in days.

The 29-year-old said he could be fitted for the car quickly.

"Even though we have to do it overnight, it's not an issue," he said.

"(It) takes around three, three-and-a-half hours, and it's not very tough."

One of Sauber's current drivers, Marcus Ericsson or Felipe Nasr, will have to miss out for Mr van der Garde if Sauber's appeal is unsuccessful.

Justices Simon Whelan, David Beach and Anne Ferguson will hear the appeal argument at 9.30am on Thursday.

Worst of batching you have to do the lot,was hoping for tomorrow off,but have to do a 'Luv' welding job on a mates farm, plus the young blooke busted the herbicide boom,so build a stronger one.The only win I did have is bought a big fat $11 steak for $3,it's sitting up there waiting for me to do the vegies, might even take a pic, before I devour it,so keep the home fires burning Alpha, and Clarkson has turned into a real wanker, has put me off TG

Clarkson has always been a bit of a knob, that's what gave Top Gear it's edge. bit like Klye Sandilands, except on the tele.

i haven't watched Top Gear for a while now, ever since channel 9 interspersed repeats with new episodes. you'd sit down wanting to watch the new season then get repeats.

What a great discussion, I guess the whole time Radio shack was going down the toilet, it had an overpaid management structure, not valuing the customer facing employees, very much the same as a big Telco in Australia, the retails stores get a 37% cut in staffing budget and are expected to make a 17% growth in a saturated market, and they wonder why the real customer focused, experienced ones say, fk it, I would rather drive a bus or work in a call centre. Yet this is the face 60% of the market they see and the other 35% get to talk to muppets, FFS.
I guess I won't ever understand the Harvard business school model of management and accounting, to me the idea is to not focus on the price war cost cutting misery, fighhting over an ever diminishing cake for the crumbs, I say fk it, make a better tasting cake, make it bigger and make it the one everyone wants, let the customer sell the product, let the FOH be empowered to make the good calls, rant over.....

ha, nice to get a steak at that price

watch both video's on the dart Shuff's. Scotties a bit of a bumpkin, but still harmless. The cringe worthy thing about the video's is that he asks a lot of the same questions both times when he shoots the car the second time, i think from stupidity, but it could be a strange plan to present the vehicle as if you hadn't watched the first video and don't know any of the information previously. wink.gif

Watched the first one not long after you put it up,and was a bit disappointed when he said it had been filmed in October but he was only showing it now,I expected it to be finished at the end,but bloody hell, some work went into it. Second one might have to wait until the weekend, looks like I'm working tomorrow,as the young bloke wants to start harvesting next week, because it's amazing how much the

place

has dried out,and there's a couple of things I need to do before I go into harvesting mode. Graphics were phenomenal

i could well imagine how much fun it'd be with characters that i've had in the past - and i'm thinking Lineage 2 - that's a sword and sorcery style game for those of you who don't know - running around the countryside battling hordes of monsters, or settings in castles / dungeons etc etc.
