wouldnt it just be the app deleted off the screen, not actually uninstalled..
or does ifail remove it totally when you delete it? dont see how it would though.. cant you check the apps folder to see whats in
there...

according to various online guides, you can go into your phone when it's sync'd to your computer, view the previously installed apps / re-install them.

however that didn't prove to be the case when i did it / following the guide. i suspect it was on account that i'd upgraded the IOS at some point in time since the apps were installed.

majorly pissed me off. but then again, if i can't remember what apps were deleted then they couldn't be that important then could they. tongue.gif

phone was free, so i'm not complaining.

Steve Strange, Visage lead singer, dies aged 55

Steve Strange, lead singer of 1980s pop band Visage, has died aged 55 following a heart attack, his record label says.

Ex-Visage bandmates Midge Ure and Rusty Egan said they were "devastated" to hear of his "untimely passing", adding: "Steve was a major face of the 80s."

Boy George tweeted he was "heartbroken" about the death of Strange, saying he was "such a big part of my life".

'Fifty Shades of Grey' Can Be Watched by 12-Year-Olds in France

Fifty Shades of Grey has been a global literary phenomenon, translated into around 50 different languages, and sold everywhere from Estonia to Turkey. This weekend, the film adaptation will appear in theaters around the world, and that means national film boards have been figuring out how to rate it and whom should be allowed to see it.

Malaysia banned it. The Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) rated it "R," meaning that children younger than 17 need to be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian. The British Board of Film Classification gave it an "18."

And then there's France.

The Centre national du cinéma et de l'image animée (CNC) gave the film a rating of "12," meaning that only children under the age of 12 are prohibited from seeing it.

Very French, indeed.

The justification for the rating was the theme of sadomasochism and the casualness with which the film presents it.

According the president of the CNC, Jean-François Mary, the board wasn't unanimous when it came to the rating, but probably not for the reason you'd expect: some members thought there shouldn't have been an age restriction at all, merely a warning.

"Fifty Shades of Grey" isn't a film that "can shock a lot of people," Mary said. It's "a romance, you could even say schmaltzy."

And that's how 12-year-old boys across France suddenly became very interested in cinema.

QUOTE
Air Force sending 'tankbuster' jets back to Europe

(CNN)The U.S. Air Force is sending its "tankbusters" back to Europe.

The service's European Command said this week that 12 A-10 Thunderbolts would be deployed to Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany, as part of Operation Atlantic Resolve, which was formed after Russia's intervention in Ukraine over the past year.

"The Air Force is increasing rotational presence in Europe to reassure our allies and partner nations that our commitment to European security is a priority," Lt. Gen. Tom Jones, vice commander, United States Air Forces in Europe -- Air Forces Africa, said in a statement.

The Air Force said besides operating in Germany, the A-10s will be forward deployed to other partner nations in Eastern Europe. U.S. forces have operated out of bases in Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia and Poland, among others, in the past year.

The A-10, also known as the "Warthog," was designed in the 1970s to support ground troops in Europe against the tanks and armored vehicles of the then-Soviet Union. Though the jets can carry a variety of bombs and missiles, they are best known for their nose-mounted, seven-barrel 30 mm Gatling gun that can fire almost 4,000 rounds per minute, enough to quickly blow apart a tank. The planes are also durable, with the pilot protected from ground fire by a wrapping of titanium often called "the bathtub." And they are designed for easy maintenance in battlefield areas, with interchangeable parts for the right and left sides of the aircraft.

Those capabilities have been battle-proven in Iraq, Afghanistan and the Balkans.

Late last year, A-10s were deployed in support of Operation Inherent Resolve, the U.S. military campaign against ISIS in Iraq and Syria. Air Force Secretary Deborah Lee James said in January that the A-10s had flown 11% of the Air Force's missions against ISIS despite coming into the conflict more than two months after initial U.S. involvement.

Despite its current usefulness, the A-10 is on the Defense Department's chopping block, with the Air Force wanting to turn over the jet's ground support mission to its newest fighter, the F-35.

Critics of the move say the A-10 can do better than the F-35 because it can get lower and slower, allowing pilots to get real eyes on targets. And they say it is way cheaper than the F-35, with a flight hour for the A-10 costing roughly half of what it costs to operate the F-35, according to numerous reports.

The Air Force says it just doesn't have the money to support the A-10, which will be more than 40 years old at its planned retirement in 2019, and its newest, more advanced aircraft.

"It's not about not liking or not wanting the A-10. It's about some very tough decisions that we have to make to recapitalize an Air Force for the threat 10 years from now," Gen. Mark Welsh, the Air Force chief of staff, said in January.

The dozen A-10s, along with 300 personnel from Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Arizona, are expected to be in Germany by the end of February, the Air Force said. The deployment is expected to last about six months.

A-10s have not been deployed to Europe since May 2013, when 21 A-10s that were stationed at Spangdahlem were removed, according to a report from Stars and Stripes.

yeah was a good turn out, not a drop of rain. they had a guy on a camera taking pictures of vehicles as they arrived - he took 1,400 photo's

probably around 4-500 cars easily enough. i shot around 200 photo's and i know that i missed more than i took.

All 2015-2019 Formula One races on Fox Sports, only 10 per year on Channel Ten

Channel Ten has extended its Formula One TV rights deal until the end of 2019, but will only broadcast 10 races per year on free-to-air. All F1 races, including those shown on Ten, will be broadcast live on Fox Sports.

With its current F1 TV arrangement set to expire at the end of the 2015 season, Network Ten has renegotiated its deal, extending it until the end of 2019.

The financially embattled free-to-air network, which is reportedly subject to a buy-out bid by Foxtel and Discovery, has retained rights to all Formula One races, but has decided to strike a new sub-licensing deal with pay TV network Fox Sports.

As part of the sub-licensing agreement, Fox Sports will air live, in high definition, all F1 races, practices and qualifying sessions from 2015 to 2019.

Channel Ten will simulcast 10 out of the 20 races per season from 2015 to 2019, including the Australian Formula One Grand Prix. For all races that it broadcasts, Channel Ten will air the practice and qualifying sessions, as well as stream the events via its Tenplay website.

The free-to-air station has yet to indicate which races it will broadcast this year, aside from the Australian fixture that kicks off the 2015 season from March 13 to 15. For races that aren't shown on Network Ten, a one hour highlights show will be screened on One at 9.30pm on the Monday following the event.

Last year, Ten and Fox Sports struck a similar deal with V8 Supercars, where Ten will simulcast six events — the Clipsal 500 in Adelaide, Townsville 500, Sandown 500, Bathurst 1000, Gold Coast 600 and Sydney 500 — with the remainder screened live and exclusive on Fox Sports. This V8 Supercars broadcasting arrangement will run from 2015 to 2020.

You cant blame them though. They are starting to realise its the only way they have a hope of making any money. Everyone I know that still has foxtel says they have it mostly because of the sports. Every new show or movie that they have and FTA TV doesn't have can be obtained more conveniently on-line. Not to mention with all these new 'netflix' style companies opening up and only charging $10 a month foxtel really has nothing going for it other than the exclusive sports rights.
