Google, Microsoft, Amazon pay to unblock ads: FT

Fifty million monthly active Internet users count on Adblock Plus software to block annoying online advertisements--and that doesn't sit well with Internet giants Google (GOOGL), Amazon (AMZN) and Microsoft (MSFT).

The three online heavyweights have paid the German start-up behind the ad-blocking tool, Eyeo, to bypass the software and to stop blocking advertisements on their popular websites, according to the Financial Times.

The three companies have made deals with Eyeo to get on its "whitelist," which allows sites to run unblocked ads only if they fit certain criteria from the start-up, the FT reported. Companies must pay Eyeo to get on its list.-

Ad-blocking software has exploded in popularity in recent years. Eyeo claims its Adblock Plus has become the most popular browser extension ever at more than 300 million downloads.

The move from the three big Internet companies demonstrates a growing worry over ad-blocking software and how it could cut into online advertising revenue, the FT reports.

Taboola, an online content recommendation platform used by NBC, which is part of NBCUniversal, the parent of CNBC, has also entered into a deal with Eyeo.

i was almost going to offer him swaps.

but then i figured, nah, first of the model, it's probably due for an engine rebuild if it hasn't had one already /due to factory issues that weren't properly resolved / ie shit design, with a carbon build up in the engines.

It's on it's second engine as far as i can tell, no s1 will last 154 000 km's on it's original engine. but even still 6500 is cheap if it needs another engine though.

well i dont have a wholesale yard for nothing tongue.gif plus rego is almost out. i dont plan on renewing it

certainly, it's not a bad price, but if the motor was gone, and with very little rego / no roadworthy, you'd push to get 5k. i know of rx8's that have been sold for that price a couple of years ago with blown engines or i wouldn't be saying it.

anyhow, gl with it.

just as an FYI, i was tempted to offer a straight swap on an '05 sp23 with 75k on the clock, but honestly i think that i'm probably better of keeping my current car. will probably change to a commodore wagon next, to have the occasional towing capacity / camp in the back option.

you should sell it easily enough at that price.
