G'day fellow motorsport enthusiasts. We are now in the 2014 motor racing season and the throttles are about to be opened to the max. Over the period of this year I plan to bring you pictorial coverage of motorcycle Dirt Track, Speedway, Motocross and Road Racing covering events primaryily the South East Queensland area.
I shall also be presenting pictorial coverage of a number of motorcar events including HillClimb with circuit racing from Mt Cotton and Grafton (NSW) Hill
Climb circuits plus road racing events from Queensland Raceways and Lakeside Park and Morgan Park. If time permits there may be an occasional Drag Racing from Willowbank Drag Circuit too.
The photos shown below are from the first 2014 practice day conducted by the North Brisbane Junior Motorcycle Club at the Mick Doohan Motorcycle Raceway, Northgate Brisbane using the main speedway circuit on Sunday, February 2nd 2014.
The event was a somewhat low key affair with no actual races, just a number of various classes given a limited time for each practice run. No major spills with the exception of a couple of lays downs and one high-side winding the young rider somewhat. I opted not to go onto the trackside of the circuit and instead shot most of these photos from the far-end of the track on the outside of the circuit. (It was after all, only a practice day
).
Motocross bikes were the flavour of the day with quads aplenty also.
