Slowly getting there.

Finally had my Kings fitted up by Budscustoms, new towers and beefed up mounts all round.

The first run today went great, didn't even bother dropping the pressure with them they felt so good, so firm and stable yet when they hit anything they just totally soak it up like its not there, any natural body roll is countered straight away when the shock starts to lean into the bypass, firms right up giving a sway bar effect, so good, still have to really throw it around to get them into that zone though. But yeah the big things would be firm, stable and they are just ironing everything out, great to feel the progressive bump stop doing its thing through the corners and over humps at speed. Will throw the swaybar back in as planned and should be really tight then.

Flex hasn't been compromised too much either, still drops the MTR below the rock sliders in the rear, impressed. Front still flexes the same due to the arms being the limit not the shocks. Wheel is still on the ground in the photo but that was the only photo i took.

Pic and a short vid throwing it into a corner, was getting a bit squirmy under breaking and a bit chirpy through the corner but that was with highway pressure's, lower pressure would have netted more control and a better result, pitty nothing really translates well in videos it looks pretty slow lol, certainly not for an 80 series.

Wow man, you gotta be happy with them ! Took that corner nice.
Keen to see some flex photos with them in.

Money well spent I gather, haha.

Its the best money iv spent on the car, without question yeah im over the moon, the on road driving is ridiculous too, just blown away.

Only got one flex shot of the rear, wheel is still on the ground, and still dropping the tyre below the slider, so flex would appear to be the same, havent had it in the air yet though so cant say exactly. Front flex's the same due to the radius arms being the limit not the shocks. Even though these are 12"s because they have IBP's they are alot bigger, more like 14s really, so my plan to go shorter than my Fox didn't quite work out and its a good thing Buddy is as talented as he is, he made the big shocks work and achieved more up travel front and rear, and the same down travel, with strong mounts all round, just a perfect result.

just at one of the lagoons on bribie island. jeep went well, thought i might have a bi of trouble with idiots stopping and then getting bogged in the soft stuff but it just floated over the top well enough

we had a good shower last night on Bribie so it should help the tracks and beach immensly, but you are right, I have never seen so many cars bogged, I am fkd if I know what they are doing.

a lot of it was just people being idiots. when we left a new nissan navara got bogged trying to drive out (and going way to slow) so two cars attempted to drive beside it, stop and then ask if he need a snatch out. so of course they got stuck too.
a little basic knowledge and they all would have made it easily

went on a little sneaky solo run yesterday
plan to go back when i can get another car to come along (probably my old man in his 2010 jk wrangler)

was pretty dam slippery but hard enough that there was no worries about getting bogged. audio sucked on the video because you could hear the camera bouncing in the housing. just need to get a bigger car for my hero3
looks a bit less like a poser car now

I live here, so I've pretty well written off going on the weekend, wasting fn hours either waiting or helping. What has got me stuffed is how many people don't let their tyres down and get the shits when it bogs.

Over the years I have seen that many vehicles destroyed here on what is basically a section of sand road with a few creek crossings. My current 4x4 is only a standard diesel auto Prado and I have had no issues anywhere on the island.

I gave up helping people after having snatch straps damaged, shackles taken etc, I've had then expect me to skull drag them out, one brazillian guy didn't even have the engine running, fn no idea in his brand new SR5 with all the ARB bling, he was stuck at first as he didn't even have it in 4x4 and just dug in down to the diffs,

good day out at glasshouse doing a bit of exploring (i had never been there before) got bogged once going through a bog hole and got hung up on the front diff. need 35's or larger for that one.
also the rear isn't flexing very well at the moment. going to have a look around and see what the problem is as the front is working very very well.
