Thin spoked wheels actually suit the boat. Looks nice! Just make sure you put the biggest cam ever made for it in it. Just for epic wheel hopping madness.

You're gonna love it. They drive like pure sex and are comfortable as fcuk too! Well done for changing from Jap cars and going modern muscle instead of euro (which seems to be the trend)

Are they 'Stance' wheels or something? They look pretty mad

Yeah Twat, I had initially all but written them off when I was shortlisting cars... but I spotted this one and took it for a test drive. The way it drives really does not feel like a massive vehicle, its very well mannered. The moment I handed the keys back I knew I didnt need to keep looking. Just could not see my money doing any better for me.

Thanks Eugene

Chris, will do a topic for it with more pics this weekend smile.gif

Ben, wheels are BK Racing (never heard of them before, some indo' brand)

You mean modern muscle (but in this case with a good interior) over modern, economical and interesting - which the Japs only bring the first two to the table.

That being said if I was going to get a Holden it would be Caprice all the way, rode in a Statesman taxi a while back and the interior was pretty damn swish.

They are seemly "luxurious" but its not proper refinement or luxury its luxury for the average Australian who thinks its the creme, they dont touch a proper luxury car, and its only skin deep with them its always just a commy unfortunately.

It is pretty comfortable, I'm sure that if I wanted to spend double the money I might have got something euro that would have been the same age and offered similar performance.... but my budget was $25k and to get anything even close it would have been 4 years older and 50k more km's on it (was looking at an Audi S4 online).
As nice as euro stuff might be, there was just nothing much else interesting at the price-point I was buying in at that offered good value. I realise the car is not the same quality, but that doesnt necessarily mean its bad quality either

Way better than a regular Commodore.. And definitely better than a BMW as well because they are unaware of stylish interiors. Yep, said it

DAL32
Post #3596

That being said I don't hold high hopes for the Holden interior to stay together very well. I've driven most generations of Commodore and just give them 2-3 years and you have switches failing, falling apart, bits and pieces cracking, etc.

As someone who bought a new BMW last year, I whole-heartedly agree, and have said much the same in the past. BMW just seem to have no idea how to inject an ounce of personality into their interiors, though they are always well screwed together and made of better quality materials than Jap/American/Australian rivals. Well-made, but boring as batshit.

Again you bought a boring X3 which is designed to be a boring mall crawler and nothing else, so dont kid yourself and tarnish the whole brand, you will find that the customization is very extensive when buying a BMW, it may not have been with your X3 though, which is understandable considering its not something you would bother customizing.

I think the interiors are great in the 3 series, and these are a generation older BTW, the F30 is sharper again with the sports line/ luxury line/ modern line, huge customization. But heres some E92 interiors, hardly lacking in personality or luxury.

Not even an M3, glorious classy interior, car glows from the inside out, literally, and comes alive at night with cockpit LED lighting all through the doors and sills.

M3 with a bit more flavor, i think the BMW brand likes the "less is more" approach, not all of us want to be sitting in a fighter jet with bright colours and carbon everywhere, although BMW give you that option when you order one, its there if you want it, the customization is epic, from Coffee colour seats to bright red, to straight white with piano black gloss trim, the interiors is the thing they have always done well E46 onwards has been great, be to as loud or as subtle as you want.

lol at Mercedes doing interiors right (class for class, dont go and post an SLS or something)

I literally think the C class even the AMG C63 is the most boring thing inside, its pathetic.

And those are generation for generation, Not even posting the latest update to that BMW interior in the new 4 series, to replace it.

The details in and customization are set to blow away the already high level.

Can we?!?! Yesss

Yeah Audi is defiantly alright in the S and RS, iv considered the S5 as an option for the next car but its slightly out of budget unfortunately and reportedly no where near as fun as the RWD E92 BMW, few reports reckon it should be amazing fun but its just not, its too easy if that makes sense.

I actually don't find any of those particularly inspiring.

And about 90% of the interior of the X3 is shared with the C class anyway (one of the things I like least about Bimmer design-just how "parts bin" they are), with just as high a degree of optioning (those soccer mums gotta have their pampering!). Mine has literally every option that effects the interior-m-sport package, aluminium trim, etc.

The X3 and the 3-series share almost all their interior components-just rearranged to different places. Same wheel, same center stack, same gear console, same aircon vents, same stalks, same nav, same pedals, same light control cluster...same damnn GUAGE cluster! It goes on. There is NOT a world of difference...which makes sense when you realise that the cheapest 3 series will actually cost you significantly less than the cheapest X3, and that the most expensive non-M 3-series (as there is no M X3) will cost you less than the most expensive X3 (the X-Drive 35d which we don't get here). The X3 is in fact the "more expensive" of the 2.

THAT'S more like it!

New C class:

New SLK:

VS new Z4:

Oh look! Personality!

You know, it's not like I just wandered in to the dealer and went "That one please". It's not like I haven't evaluated/driven cars from all the major Euro mobs thoroughly. At every class level (SLK/TT/Z4 to M5/E63/S5) I find BMW to be the laggard on the interior design. As well-built as any, but ultimately bereft of any emotion.

MJ80
Post #3604

So that amazing SLK interior is epic because... ? it has red stitching ? i think it looks like ass id much rather a Z4 inside.

And are you actually comparing the new C class inside to the new 4 series coupe to replace the E92 ? seeing as though we are comparing class for class and all ? even then i think the E 92 inside shits on the C63 i posted and the update you posted, i think they are horrendous boring interiors

Theres just no comparison i rest my case, it looks good in fcuking brown for christs sake imagine it in a proper colour.
