hey everyone, thought i would post up my project for the last 18 months, finally got it on the road!
when i first got the car it was in pretty rough shape & had a blowen motor amongst many other problems, anyway I started by picking up a very tidy/low km s2 r33 half cut and got to work on it & it just evolved from there, its been a slower process as I work full time but its getting there, absolutely everything so far has been done by myself and a bit of help from a couple of mates. (except the wiring & exhaust), i have pictures from the whole build and a folder full of receipts. theres probly alot ive forgotten to add but this is what i can remember -



ENGINE/GEARBOX:
-s2 RB25DET & 5spd (108k) (came from a dead stock 95 s2 r33)
-new timing belt + tensioner
-new water pump + gasket
-new "hi-flow" thermostat
-new exhaust manifold gasket + studs
-new turbo flange gasket
-new dump pipe gasket
-new turbo oil+water line gaskets&bangos
-new rocker cover gaskets
-new sump gasket
-new top and bottom radiator hoses
-new vlt 3core radiator + cap
-new belts
-new silicone hoses everywhere
-new pod filter with heat shield and CAI
-new ngk platinum plugs gaped to 0.8
-new drift oil filter
-new oil cap
-new drift fuel pressure regulator w/guage
-new drift boost tee (will be changed to EBC when $ allow)
-new fuel lines & filter
-walbro fuel pump
-front mount intercooler
-oil catch can
-new engine damper
-new amaron battery
-new "RPM" H/D clutch plate, pressure plate, bearing
-machined fly wheel
-new 2.5" split dump pipe, 3" exhaust, hi flow cat, 1 muffler, 3" dump tip
-R33 yoke mated to vl tail shaft, new uni joints, new center bearing, balanced
-mod plate for conversion
-diff - 3:45 with a mini spool (soon to be 4:11)

SUSPENSION:
-Front - new gabriel struts, new v8 ssl king springs, munroe bump stops, v8 sway bar, nolathane sway link & mount bushes, nolathane radius rod bushes, new wheel bearings, new tie rod ends, reco steering rack.

-Rear- new gabriel struts, new sssl king springs, new adjustible panhard rod, nolathane sway bar link & mount bushes.

BRAKES:
standard.
front- machined rotors, new bendix pads, fluid flush
rear- machined drums, new bendix shoes, new cylinders, fluid flush

WHEELS:
18" SS wheels with new cheap rubber all round.

INTERIOR:
-red MSD throw overs
-red rear seat cover
-black floor matts
-wood grain steering wheel
-hacksaw short shifter and simple gear knob
-gps
-autometer pro comp, oil presure, water temp, boost
all in carbonfibre cups
-5" wog clock w/shift light
-apexi SAFCII
-apexi turbo timer
-led hood light
-jvc head unit
-2 x 6" jvc up front
-2 x 6" mistro's in parcel tray
-2 x 10" clarion pro comp subs in box
-1 x random amp
-1 x sca wiring kit

EXTERIOR:
-resprayed at home by me unfortunatly im good at body work...not so flash on the gun (orange peel on roof/bonnet/boot & couple of runs) sad.gif.. will get re-done eventually but at least for now its all the same colour and its shiney lol.
-white ppg enamel
-window frames and handles zinnser gloss black
-brakes/hubs sprayed silver to match wheels
-boot and entire underbody sprayed with sound deadner texture black
-engine bay sprayed gloss black
-engine block gloss black
-rocker covers gloss black
-bright green highlights
-tinted tail lights
-new headlights


next plans are to change the diff gears, get a tune & tint the windows & a few little things, then later on do a better respray, bigger turbo + injectors, ecu, etc etc.

Thanks for looking, I know its not everyones flavor but im happy with it & its been a fun build smile.gif

    the green in the engine bay???.. not sure why.
    nice conversion though and i spose they are both equally boats so no loss on putting the 25 into this.

    cheers guys, I knew the green wasnt going to be to everyones taste but I like it.. except for the horrid washer/coolant bottle lol... waitng on a new clear one smile.gif

    I must ask however. DOes a RB25 give better power (ultimately) over teh RB30? I'm just looking at it from a Holdener PoV of 'no replacement for displacement'

    exo- its an age old debate which will never be agreed on by everyone.. in the end i belive it just comes down to personal preference., I have owned 30's & 25's before, both are great imo. I just prefer the sound of a 25 tongue.gif + the fact that its 10 years newer and twin cam is a bonus.

    Well before doing the 25 swap you could have easily afforded to freshen up a 30 and go for a dodgy 30DET that would/should be still good for 400 ponies.
