If you do want it purely for music though, just buy a 7th ipod classic. 160gb is like $250ish.

Classic is hard drive based, not keen...

Think i got a line crossed somewhere anyway the 3gs only goes to 32gb... refurbed 64gb seem to be about $249 anyway

If you use a note I doubt you'll be able to readjust to an iPhone for anything you'd use a data package for... those screens are kinda small.

What's wrong with a hard drive based device? All laptops are and they do fine..?

Oh it'd be purely music and wifi hotspotting.

Laptop hard drives are a tad more durable but like all hard drives really don't like shaking or being thrown around much... Last hdd based mp3 player i had was a pain in the ass, longer loading times, skipped if you were moving too much and a solid drop could corrupt a whole album / fcuk it for good.

Something in my head is setting off bells about iPhone and wifi hotspotting. I don't think you can do it on the Optus network. With Android phones, it simply shares the 3G/H+/4G connection, on an iPhone it sends a request to the service provider or something like that.

Zimma
Post #1409

Oh really.. Well that would be shit. Still didn't realise 64gb touches were dropping that much either, enough to hold every single song i own.. But combining it with dataplan for youtube access and hotspotting was like hmm awesome idea brewing.

Worst case jailbreak and everything is possible from my limited memory

I am pretty sure Iphone you can just switch on Hotspot. I had done it a few times with vodafail when I was with them.

it did say there was a $25 unlocking fee if you do it online, but i was never charged.

The Doctor

Zimma
Post #1416

Not a need more a case of i tend to have changing music listening preferences... Having it all would be nice tongue.gif

Note is still in plan for ages and to be honest i really cant be stuffed with setting my music up to use on an android device, hence i never have

The Doctor

i have just 4gb of music on my ipod for gym, and with just that amount im constantly skipping songs till i find something i want to listen too..

even if your note is still in a plan you can still unlock it.
the nokia was still under plan but wasent using it as i bought the sgs2,

clicky

Zimma

Ah ok, not much point to using the note though, will just end up sending the battery flat faster.

Twat In The Hat
Post #1419

i have upwards of 100gb of music. I would rather have it all on me all of the time, rather than me trying to decide what I 'might' want to listen to.

Idea potentially worth watching i guess... Although android phone + 64gb card would be cheaper, but then I have to reorganise all my music. No point using my Note for that flattening the primary device is a bad idea when you have no backup batery

Nope.
Several Android apps will sync your Itunes library.
