Dumping Exhaust Over The Diff? Is It Legal?

Basically just what the topic says is it Legal?. I am wanting to put two 3" exhausts and dump it just after the diff.

depends.... has to be I THINK 100mm from the diff back and it could b very loud smile.gif i do think u should put a "fake" pipe at the end to stop cops goin HEY HE HAS NO ZAUST AND IS LOUD smile.gif $$$$$$finE$$$$$$$

i believe its ok as long as it is more than 300mm behind the rear-most opening window, and not under a join in the floor.....but i could be wrong.

Thanx guys yeh i want it to be loud enough to be legal and i was goning to stick a fake one out the back for safe measures im putting in an 8 and want it to have a nice blurble to it. biggrin.gif

go look it up in the legislation its on boost here somewhere,just look in misc and see if theres anything about it there.. wink.gif

yeah i heard that it has to be after the last opening of the car so yeah if your boot is sealed on the inside dont see why it cant be dumped after the diff

It's legal to be dumped AFTER the diff on 4 door cars.

On utes and other 2 door cars, it can end AFTER the rear doors. I havn't read any statements saying that it has to go over the diff.

dude loud is now an under statement if u have extractors and a cat back (not choped after diff) u are just legal! cops dont need db testers they just hear zaust of stereo and FINE

I think iv havent explained myself right because i cant really do it unless its finished. Its gonna sound like an Ls1 but deeper and around the same quietness, if that makes any sense? huh.gif

Speaking from experience -
The exhaust MUST exit further out the rear from the last part of the chassis. Cant remember how far exactly, its been 18 months since i got done.
