Hey guys just a curious question, im thinking of buying a cressida and having the whole sleeper look, was just wondering how much people have paid for a 1jz conversion, and what box etc. ive been searching but just wondering costs of the build

What ever 1jz you can get your hands on. Use the stock Trans or the one that comes with your half cut/ conversion package. So cost really depends on how good of a deal you get on the motor package

Thanks, okay found a car and a engine, hopefully have it in a couple of weeks. What's some basic things to do to get it running, the car is going to be unregistered (currently on my p's) until I have my open license so around a year. I'll just be running it down the drag strip and maybe around one of the raceways until then.

hey guys !

whats the go with the ls1 conversion in these for AUS? is it allowed legally? im planing my next car at the moment and wanted to go with the; MX83 ls1 t56 combo.

Any help would be appreciated

wasnt missle motorsport looking to do it in Victoria and couldnt/didn't due to EPA rules stuffing him around so went blown 1uz instead I believe

my understanding the biggest engine capacity being turbo/supercharged you can go in a MX83, is using the below formula:

Mono Constructed vehicles ( One piece) (not separate chassis) is Original vehicle weight(kg) X 4.0.
This formula is also for 4 cylinders and rotaries over 1100kg, 8 & 12 cylinders.

Using this formula, the mx83 kerb weight is 1361kg. This calculates to being 5444cc's. Not bad.
This is the maximum engine capacity being turbo/supercharged providing no other systems on the car is overloaded, and the Approved person is comfortable that all other systems and engine subsituition is adequate to meet ADR's

sept 22-23 you have to prepay for this event. cheap price cuts of tomorrow then goes up another 50 then and 50 after that cut off. there is 3 cressy racing that i know of.

Need a bit of help guys. I get my car back tomorrow with 800cc injectors fitted but no tune. Whats the worst that can happen? Its tuned with the stock injectors and 16psi at 300 hp atw on a microtech lt16 and x6 ignitor.

I wouldn't risk it. You will over-fuel and drive like a pig and will annoy the sh!t out of you on the day. Best bet would to do a quick road tune at least if you have laptop and AFR gauge it shouldn't be too difficult as they are suppose to be a simple system.

Can't talk though as I have only heard and never had one.

Come to think about it, shouldn't you be able to deduct the percentage of duty of the 800cc injectors to match the stock rate?

it wont hurt it but it will blow heaps of fat out the exhaust and may run crap at idle. just find someone that knows microtechs to have a quick play with it to get you though powercruise. e85 will make it not run so fat wink.gif

Well i was thinking of just winding a bit more boost into it. But i dont think that will be a good idea with the 38mm gate :/ i might try and find someone before next wednesday i think. Any suggestions?

winding the boost up will only help when on full noise. why dont you just use the factory injectors until you get it tuned with the 800s

Ok so stock injectors are back in. Wouldnt idle and flooded when it came on boost. Goes well with the big shiny plenum biggrin.gif

ok, so turbo is being fitted monday. it should be rego'd and ready to rumble start of next week smile.gif

The brand is KU Engineering. I think it is china spec but it is really well made.

picked up my cressie from efi yesterday...ended up making 353rwhp @17psi thru the stock auto with 3k stall and untouched engine internals...took it for a cruise last night and found a pod of vtecs and skyline rolling down the M1 biggrin.gif lets just say the auto was out of its comfort zone doing high speed sh!t but it was defs the quickest of the night biggrin.gif

haha sleeper cressidas does it again, nice power mate. words of advice leave the car alone have fun and enjoy it, or you'll end up chasing numbers and watching the $$$$$$$$$ figure rise and not enjoying as much.

yer mate im considering cams and springs but then ill be making enough power to quickly destroy the auto...then ill be up for one of the mv built ones which arent real cheap im imagining

the stock auto will support a fair bit of power, just ask kristian for a pm about the shift kit wiring, new valve body and extra clutch backs, we had a stock auto built in a back yard holding holding 600hp, true story biggrin.gif

also just get some cams some one to do awesome head porting maybe a proper huffer
