Engine:
rb30e

Exhaust:
full 2 1/2" exhaust system

Suspension:
Pedders extreme xa fully adjustable coilovers modified to suit vl, 30mm front sway bar, 22mm adjustable rear sway bar, adjustable panhard rod, few other bits and pieces

Wheels:
17" vz sv6 wheels with firenza 235-45-17" tyres (do not recommend for anything seeking grip
)
Modifications:
Nothing special, plan to rebuild the whole motor soon, seeking 350-400hp zone, also upgrading the brakes converting rear diff to disc brakes 28 spline lsd and a rb25 gearbox

Stereo Audio / Visual:
cheap pioneer set up

Estimated Power:
only 140ish i assume

cornering ability is my main concern with this car, also interested in what you guys think of putting some deep dish wheels on it? haven't found any that fit that really catch my eye, if anyone knows of some nice ones a recommendation would be appreciated, cheers.

before its said
yes i know trying to set up a vl to corner is hopeful.
i know its not that amazing in looks
i know its been up before, just interested in what people think of my new suspension and wheel recommendations.
productive feedback is appreciated

Dished wheels? Nah funk that, just get some later model crumblydore wheels and put them on, VY SS's, Sigs, SSV's, VX GTS's Etc.

Get a VLT disc+LSD rear end.

    Get a turbo conversion.

    Drive.

    At least its manual.

was going to do just the vlt diff swap, but im leaning towards a 4 pinion lsd and vt rear discs on my current diff instead

    Yeah whatever makes you happy.

Id piss those pin stripes off.

And I cant say im a fan of the drift spec steering wheel.

Why is cornering ability your main concern in a VL? Your pushing sh!t uphill. I'm not trying to bag you, but when I had my VL i was only worried about how fast it could go in a straight line.

just something different to build man, but it does corner good, holds better then my old impreza. body work isn't a big concern of mine really, got the wheel because my original one was huge haha, and i liked the suede for grip. its just fun to have a car like this, its retarded purpose adds to the fun/humour

With the diff, Dont bother with the LSD, they're sh!t. Minispool or kaaz it. VLT diff with hydraulic handbrake on it. Cant go wrong

Also, you will get 350hp out of the NA 30 easy with a good tune. dont waste money on rebuilding it, My daily has 400 000 on it, RB30e+t, sees 6.5k rpm almost everyday. 350hp with 15psi is easy. Good Luck
If you want info go on R31Skyline Club, heaps of info there about building a RB30

Did you notice much of a difference when you put the new suspension set up in??

I like it, im not a commodore fan by any stretch of the imagination but this is clean and subtle. Top effort so far! thumbsup.gif

Thanks mate, hugeeeeee difference normally I think it's safe to say vls handle like a pig, but with this new suspension I can enter corners sharp or high speed with a good subtle over steer firm as a rock. The car can easily keep up with anything it has been against so far, 300zx hsv r8 200sx so on so on, just give it some corners and away she goes ha, mostly tyres holding it back at the moment

With standard suspension, i wouldn't doubt it, but i don't think they would be the greatest drivers to ever come across either lol

Can have the greatest car in the world, doesn't mean you can drive it.

haha exactly man, the silvia driver backed off around 120kph (this was on bush land back roads) (remote hours of the night so reasonably safe for the general public)

s14 back off in speed and the r8 was on a windy road, didn't have the chance to use its power

hey mate all up i have spent about 3000 on the lot but that also included the not so amazing tyres, retail is 5000+ due to the fact that the coilovers are custom made and not a product for sale (but if you're interested in some coilovers i can point you in the right direction)

Just think that it would have been better to spend 3 grand on something newer and better. You must really love this old warhorse ha ha. Yellow is the worst part aesthetically in my opionion. Good luck with it bro
