I wouldn't be going 3.9's in an auto though. You will hate it! I have 3.46's and they are a little too tall, have spoken to a few diff shops and the general feedback is that 3.73 is the best all round ratio for a street/strip car. |

But then again, it depends on if you want to retain what little drive ability you have left lol i have a mate that has 3.7 in his auto and a 4000 stally with a 247 252 cam i think and i drive it and its fine so im going to go 3.9 i think it will be ok |

Every set up is different. A bloke I know has a wh with 3.73 gears, smaller cam than mine (228/230 @112), intake, tune and built auto with 3500 convertor and his sits @2000 on the highway at 100. But he said his torque convertor locks up after 90. So it drives like a normal car with gears. |

But my torque convertor doesnt lock up, so my convertor can flare a little so it can sit at a higher rpm n not be going any quicker lol Basically my point is, just because your mates drives good with 3.73's, doesn't mean yours will with 3.9's. Every setup is different man yer i guess i am still going to go with 3.9 and see wat happens i guess i will let u know wen i get it done how it goes cheers for the advice though |
