sweet, i would say it was still shane even when it was still a streeter. but if your only talking as of now it would have to be sleepy with around 600? let us know what it makes. ive got my glide in being built as we speak and waiting for my bellhousing to turn up in the next couple of days or early next week. so its all happening smile.gif

ps- might want to change your sig with your tuner smile.gif

what was shane making street driven? id just like my claim to be australias most powerful cressida haha, the beat sleepy at 1/4 run wink.gif

not sure about shanes but i would say around mid 700- maybe more. he still drove it on the street back in the day on semis. i also remember on youtube him doing a pass on the semis with his up there current power of 900odd just for fun and still pulled a good pass. what are you hoping for?

hey guys, car is getting tuned tomorrow, so tell me what is the most powerful cressida in qld or australia street driven??? is it sleepy???

really depends what you call street driven, mine gets driven to work most weeks, the wife still does the shopping in it sometimes, gets driven to the track when raced, gets driven to and from powercruises, only ever had street tires and pump fuel in it. Where other people call a street car one thats registered, trailered everywhere and driven once a month, raced with stripped interior and slicks.
as for most powerful no idea what mine makes so good chance that you might be able to get to that, mines made a best of 603rwhp with this turbo on the dyno on 28psi but we gave up with trying to get the tyres to hook up comes on boost to hard. its currently on about 35psi so at a guess something over 650rwhp.
most powerful street cressida would be that manual 2jz one from nsw i think makes over 700rwhp has run 10.1 also i believe.
there is also a few cressidas in Toowoomba that most of you dont know about there is a 2jzna-t one that made a best of 587rwhp thats run 10.49 (scott hoffmans old one) there is also a 2jzgte + gt42 mx83 that will be getting tuned maybe this weekend will be around the 600rwhp, and another 2jzgte one in the build that will be finished in the next couple of months also around 600rwhp, a 1jzgte mx83 that is very similar to mine has made 550rwhp so far more to come so there is plenty of competition for you. so power you should hopefully be up there with all of them no doubts as for being the fastest thats a different story all together ive been pretty busy and havent had a chance to take mine back but ran 10.1 last time on 30psi and have since changed to a better convertor and another 5psi boost so time will tell, i also think that you may have some competition with pig060 for the fastest title with the powerglide and some decent boost and proper rear end set up its definately a potential 9.99 second car

but hurry up and get to the track i need some competition to get me motorvated to go back lol, i think the main drama you will have with yours at the track is convertor and rear suspension will hold your 60 foot times back. ive done some simple but needed mods to the back of mine and now runs easy 1.4 60 foots on 255 radials

I'll be hitting the track around the 23rd of june to see what the mx73 does now. Will require some practice hitting the sweet spot for the launch and get some decent 60 ft's.
Quite a fair few decent hp cressidas hanging around and be good to see all at the strip one day. I have maxed my injectors, but have been imagining what it would be like seeing close to 30psi on mine. I am pretty sure it will involve something snapping or letting go haha.
Either box or half shafts i put money on.

This is quite a stupid question, but not experienced at all with the 3500rpm stall I have, but the best way to launch would be to mash the brake pedal and when ready just to mash the accelerator, then lift the brake pedal off when you get close to 3000rpm+ or just before tyres are about to turn and cannot hold?

My first experience with it early days wasn't too good, and I was slowly bringing the rpms up, and tyres were letting go fairly early.

i want to see more of these cressidas sleepercorty smile.gif lol. scottys old cressida went well for the kind of setup it has. i think my 35r will let me down on power but hopefully will still go ok. im still full stock weight with not one thing taken out aprt from aircon. i even still have stuff in the car that was ment for the 7m that i should pull out but im always playing with other crap and never got around to it lol. there sure is alot more cressys being built all over aus which is good to see.

dan (1.5jz) with that turbo you have it should make good power but i think it will be very laggy at the track and will effect your times but should run good mph.

pig060
Post #2072

baz- just stall it up until it feels good or before it spins. also use handbrake if you have to. pretty sure sleepycorty does to help hold? ill come up when you go and give advise if it helps? that night i took the stocky 1j up i droped .5 on my time by stalling it up just before it spun smile.gif using handbrake to hold it better.

Piss the BOV off, they only leak anyway. Sounds like a tidy setup you will have. Another mean cressida we will have roaming the streets

What engine management are you going to be using and will it be auto or manual?

Kev rowley would be where to take your wiring to. He has a bit of experience with cressidas jz wiring now and would be the only person I would take it to.

isnt it bad for the turbo with no bov, if i can afford it i will use the r154 box. as i had an adaptronic in my old s13 i will prob grab another 1 as my old one never gave me any grief.
where is kev rowley. that name sounds familiar

Mine has been going great guns without one for a while now. But they are suppose to reduce pressure on your compressor wheel once ya let ya foot off the gas.
I have an auto, whether that makes a great difference, being that great pressure isn't being put on my turbo due to it slowly winding down as apposed to gear changes
on a manual where pressure is on/off/on/off type of thing.

Kev is over ipswich way, and is a bit of a guru with wiring engine management.

I haven't had much to do with, or any experience on adaptronic so can't comment on it. As long as you have a guru to tune the thing and know what they are doing, shouldn't be any issues.

Personally have had power fc, safc2 and wolf v500, and have to say the wolf v500 has come up with the goods (even controlling my auto). Bit of a weapon when it comes to functions. You name it, and it will probably control it.

yeah only reason i like adapt is i plan to run e85 and it seemed to run great on it. had it tuned by east coast customs done a top job

bazr33
Post #2081

Yeah I am running e85 aswell did the switch on the last tune I had, has ran smoother, and love the smell with the upper cylinder lube i chuck in. Probably the reason the car has made the power it has, with advance of timing you can chuck in and more boost.

Maxed the injectors, so hit the limit so far, but has much more in it.

Yeah anything under 1000cc injectors, I wouldn't bother. I will be going ID2000cc/2200 if I go anything further, but will have to upgrade a whole heap of other sh!t after that.

I am running a garrett t04z with a .84 rear.

Manifold/exhaust was made/organised by two guys made that i was referred to by pig060, which do quality work and are the reason where I am.
Regardless of reinforced brackets on ebay manifolds, wouldn't trust them at all. Then again, never ran one so cannot comment.

But what I can comment on is the manifold I currently run, which also have egt ports to monitor exhaust temps when tuning. This had saved my engine, due to noticing
a lazy injector, which the wolf was able to increase the duty to equal the temps out.

Sounds like you have put a bit of coin in your engine, so I would be thinking a bit of insurance for it, and don't risk going with a ebay manifold.

If you want details with regards to manifold/exhaust fab work let pig060 know.

hey does anyone know the part number for the serpentine belt for the 2jzgte?

I was looking at the dayco brand, and there was a 6pk1955 and 6pk1930. Obviously they reference the sizing of 1930mm or 1955mm.

Which one is the correct one, running all the pullies?

Any help is much appreciated. Even if there is another brand to check out that is quality and reasonably cheap.

well the 3076 is on the sida now...precision 46mm gate, ebay 600x300x100 cooler...3.5inch dump and zorst, 3 inch cooler piping... biggrin.gif:D:D:D loving it

heres a couple of pics...needs some heatshield around the brake booster and the wiring needs a tidy up as well as some hose for the catch can but you get the idea...craig at extreme custom engineering did all the work and i gotta say i am amazed at the quality of welds and fit of everything bowrofl.gif

11.6@133mph.

Suffering some vibrations in the drivetrain somewhere though on the way home.
The standard cressida radiator I think has hit its limit. Had a bit of coolant spray. not sure if its just the overflow bottle or radiator cap.

May be looking at some overhaul action with the rear end. I had a concerns of when something was going to give way.

Gearbox being stiff still, needs new oil. Any recommendations?

Also installed the new 50 Cell (barely leal) Hi-Flow cat the other day. I suggest for everyone to get one, sounds throatier and goes a considerable amount harder. Also joined the 22PSI club, time for new injectors.

So after the drags over the weekend, my universal joint had a bit of wear.

Took the tailshaft in to Hardy Spicer for both uni joints to be replaced (Thought might aswell, to know that both are new)
Today my old man goes in to pick up the tailshaft to find, that my rubber coupling that was on the tailshaft has disappeared and
to be advised there was a slight bend in the tailshaft.

They were going to balance my tailshaft anyway (to charge 150 bucks) which I would of had to fix the bend then bring back in to then be re-balanced. So we had stated to not balance it, and are currently trying to locate a rubber coupling for me if they cannot find my one.

My luck is farkin crap. Can anyone do an easy task these days without farkin it up of me.

danmcccc- looks good dude.

yep i know how you feel baz. make them buy you a new one if they lost it? there building my sharft now.

on the upside my glide is fitted for the last time. also got all my speedflow fittings and braided line for oil cooler today. oil cooler is fitted up ready for lines. tailsharft is being made smile.gif this thing might hit the road again soon lol. cant wait.

bazr33
Post #2093

sweeet as. sounds like good news. let us know when ya up and running

Which Hardy Spicer are sorting out your tailshaft?

My fork on the front half of the shaft is a bit flared out (I assumed it was in the tube), so will need a new one to be grafted on. Funny enough these guys don't stock the fork the unis sit in. Maybe the case but I found that a bit odd.
They said they found it difficult to fit the uni's in, and knew it was a bit flared out, but still fit them and didnt bother to ring us. Then was going to balance it.

Anyway I also got a new aluminium radiator coming in, for some more efficient cooling. I'll have a bit more shiny stuff in the bay.

question: what is err body using for coils??? i bought some bcpr6e plugs but no doubt te stock coils wont cut it... can you buy splitfires for 1j coz i cant find them anywhere!!!! so my only option is superspark or yellow jacket....im not doing the ls1 thing with leads

pig060
Post #2096

there is a couple of different options. going the superspark etc will not be any better then standed good ones really. your better off with built in ignitors for each cyl like i have done. im running the 2nz coils from a toyota yaris and works great. still coil over plug and sits under the factory cover but you need to make a braket to fix them in the cyl head. ive got no spake blow out at all on 23psi. baz is still running factory coils on 25psi.(funks me how lol) mine on standed coils misfired at 19psi.

so how do you wire these in? do you still run the factory ignitor? or do you have to make harnesses?

bazr33
Post #2098

Danmcccc, I have the 1zzfe coils with a specially made harness and bracket system to suit 1jzgte/2jzgte. (more so 1jzgte)

There are only 9 or so wires you have to hook up, which includes your trigger wires for each coil, earth, power etc.

I only trial fitted them to my 2jzgte (which I had to put an extra hole in one of the brackets so one coil didn't hit my pcv outlet.

Depending on where you are, you are more than welcome to have a squizz at it.

As ron said, (these coils are identical to the 2nzfe coils) they handle boost well, have inbuilt ignitors (so you could piss off the 1jzgte ignitor), and the coils are reasonably priced as far as quality coils go for a jz engine.

I am running currently the superspark coils at the moment, which have a bit of nail polish on them as they were showing signs of splitting near the bolt holes. Still going strong at the moment.

If your interested in the below setup, let me know and I am happy to sell the setup. The harness I got from the U.S
