im looking at buying a car in the next couple of days, but its got nsw rego it, can i cancel this registration? being that its registered in someone elses name. ive searched qld transport site but it says nothing about canceling it if its in somebody elses name, that i can find cheers. |

You don't need to cancel the interstate rego before you get QLD rego. You just hand the plates in at the transport department. They give you a surrender receipt. Source: I am a Motor Dealer. I buy interstate cars often. (personal experience) and all i need is a receipt from the owner stating that the car is mine? and im able to hand plates in and re-register in qld the ssme day? seems to easy haha |

You need a New Businees/Registration form (I forget what they're called, we don't use them we have computer generated ones) It's a green form. You need RWC, Proof of origin(receipt) and YOUR drivers licence. And money... They love money. |
