not saying he cant, but it would just make getting the vehicle home and to rwc and qld transport alot easier

Interstate acquirers of a NSW-registered vehicle who wish to claim a refund on the remaining NSW registration.
The NSW registration must be transferred into your name for a fee before you are eligible to claim a refund.
Both the transfer and refund can be processed by mail and at the same time.

as far as im aware you cant transfer interstate rego into your name?

You don't need to cancel the interstate rego before you get QLD rego. You just hand the plates in at the transport department. They give you a surrender receipt.

Thats it mate. It is THAT easy. You need a New Businees/Registration form (I forget what they're called, we don't use them we have computer generated ones) It's a green form. You need RWC, Proof of origin(receipt) and YOUR drivers licence.

And money... They love money.
