I saw a mint XB 4 door, red with black bonnet around the Holland Park area on Sunday. I miss seeing those sorts of cars on the road.

OT drove my van to work, to the gym, back home.

Spent 4hrs detailing the exterior.
Typically I need to spend another 1/2 hr doing odd bits here n there.
Engine bay polish and interior are next on the hit list.

Attempted to make my headunit work again (after I pulled the switched live out because it was attached to a connector that I needed but disconnected and forgot about). Didn't work. Hmmmmmm fail.

That'll be tomorrow's project now, I want music to drive with on the weekend lol. Hopefully complete sub installation tomorrow also.

I picked off some of the bug splatter on the front. Cried on the inside when I found 3 more stone chips and how grubby it was after only a few days since I cleaned it sad.gif

if you for some reason cant use the accessories wire you can always put it to constant power so you can switch the unit off and on as needed to get you by for the weekend

last night i did a few things to the work car
- led dome lights in the cabin and canopy
- leds in the door lights
- scotch guarded the interior

going to buy some rubber matting, seat covers and few other bits and pieces today

I really want to avoid that because I used to have to do that with my 156. Pain in the ass turning the stereo on and off manually every time. Especially with an aftermarket one because of course they combine the power button and the band button so you need to hold it for ever for it to turn on and off.

There is no accessories wire in the Alfas either, as the position on the ignition doesn't exist.

Does it have a cigarette lighter? How about splicing a relay into its power wire to trigger the radio's power?

DAL32
Post #243

Oh I have the wire, it's just that there's clearly something else that's come apart while I was stuffing around back there.. so I'm going to have a look at the whole lot. The cigarette lighter is switched live anyway. Well, actually it depends on the year model of my car. The older ones have constant cig lighter power.

Least a bike didn't fall on it smile.gif

OT: I changed the oil on it and thought about buying a new battery for it.

Akshunhiro
Post #245

Changed the battery after finding it had a lead acid in the boot. Put my Optima D34 in. Was also surprised there wasn't a fuse at the battery...

Put my Pioneer headunit in too since it shits all over the Alpine that was in it. Sounds good man!

Might adjust the rear coilovers later if I could be fucked.
