We will have to check again to see how many people will be attending if we were still to have it on the 14th

Looks like the cruise is off for now, till everyone is good to go.

Besides that, just had word that mine has decided to whip out a 568hp tonight.
Having some 15" wheels made to put some mt's behind it, then full re-wire to get rid of all the crap in there.
Should be good to go in the next coming weeks. I dare say it will be fun haha.

About time something good has happened.

After reading the fuel consumption topic on boost, i thought i would post my Cressida's fuel consumption, and try compare to you guys, currently it sits at 21.6l/100kms on town/highway driving, mostly town. On BP ultimate. 1jz, auto, exhaust, fmic etc.

Fairly easy to change, i just got sick of dipping into my 1j fund to fix it. If you plan on keeping the 7m you are better off using arp head studs. They seem to last longer then.

cool mate ill keep an eye on the 7m i would like a 7mgte or a 1jgte in the future but im stuck with this till im off my ps ive ownd four celicas in the past this is my first six so im looking forward to seeing what i can get na and turbo out of thing

pig060
Post #2045

rikksx- good to hear you have joined the club smile.gif go a 1j in the future. easyer for parts and alot more reliable then a 7m. as said above you will do head gasgets but the rest of the car will be good.

rona- holy dude thats crazy. maybe you should change the o2 sensor in your exhaust as your ecu maybe telling it to run rich hence why you use alot of fuel. i have a 2j making over 500 on e85 (e85 uses 30% more then 98) and it doesnt use that much. i just regestered my daily 1j vvti, auto with cooler and exhaust and so far is very good on fuel so im guessing you must have a reason for it?

rikksx
Post #2046

is there any thing i can do to try a prevent the head gasket going ........so far the plan for the car is shocks springs breaks paint panel then look at light motor mods till i can work out what im doing in the future.........going kyb shocks with king springs use this set up in quite a few road cars and its pretty good dont know what to use for breaks yet so any suggestions would be good the body of the car is strait with no rust. the in side in the nicest ive seen in a 20 year old car electric every thing (no sun roof) with rego i paid 1800 only down side was some bright spark painted pink stripes on it.......it was used to tow a caravan and has done heaps of km over 300 000 but as i do not count on keeping the motor it shouldnt be too muck of a prob

thanks for all the replys guys be good to get out for a cruise one day soon

you should join toyotacressida.net there is so much info on there its not funny. as for brakes just get r33 skyline front calipars (4piston) with ba/bf xr6 turbo disc and it will bolt up. you should get new lines made just because there getting old but the old ones still fit. best/ easyest brake upgrade ever. coilovers will be better but depending on budget kings etc will be good but they still sit high even with superlows. there is a thread on cressida forums about rav4 struts up front and i think jza70 rear for shorter travel shocks? which will make it sit nice.

thanks mate great help ive thought bout coil overs it will depend on price as for the break set up sounds cool parts would be all easy to get too... ill join cressida.net too ........

im running the v500 in my 2j cressy and i think its mint. worth every cent. v550 is just the newest model that came out. as long as your tuner works with them then ull be right. im quessing when you say sean you mean efi? if so great guy and tuner.

danmcccc
Post #2052

yer mate, efi, sean seems to tune to what the engine will safely produce rather than what numbers the customer wants which is what i like to see...ive got a shiny new gt3076r sitting there ready to go on, just pricing gates then its getting all manifold and pipe work made up...probly going the 44mm tial gate...needing injectors too if anyone has any drop in 600cc + nengun do the sard ones but im a bit suss on buying from overseas :S

Dan

if you need manifolds and piping done let me know. i have a few guys that do mint work from home smile.gif whats it for? 1j? guessing its in a cressida since your posting in here.

just look at getting some id1000cc or something similar. Run perfect even if your no way near max duty cycle.
and can pick them up new for 600

danmcccc
Post #2056

sean (efi) said for the power i wanna make anything over 550cc will be a waste and just increase fuel economy...so i bought from the states a top feed rail kit, sard reg and 550 bosch direct plug in injectors for 650 delivered...with stock head i cant see anymore than 400rwhp being made so they will do for the time been

Dan

pig060
Post #2057

i had 870cc injectors on pump fuel with 450rwhp when i first did my conversion and it was cheaper on fuel then my is200 stock smile.gif as long as its tuned well its only going to use what it needs and the rest returns to the tank. id1000s are pretty good but if you already have some i wouldnt bother. but most guys say they only want 300-400 and end up going more like me lol. im running 1200s in my 2jz on e85 and still is really good on fuel. as for the stock head making no more then 400 guess again. i seen a 100% stock 1jz with boltons making 500rwkw wink.gif

danmcccc
Post #2058

i want a responsive 400rwhp see wink.gif we'll see how when go when gameday comes...need a wastegate then its off to fabricator...anyone selling a 44mm? prefferable tial

pig060
Post #2059

a 30 on a 1j will be nice and responsive smile.gif 400 is still a fair bit of power and a 1j will do that easy smile.gif looking forward to the pics?

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/44MM-Turbo-Stai...=item3cc605ed10

Check this persons 44mm wastegates. The above is the one I have on my car, currently holding a steady and dead on 25psi on 568hp

For 50 bucks, its worth its money including additional postage costs. They have mini 44mm wastegates aswell.

save ya money spending 300 bucks on a tial gate, where the above is just as good

Got a mate selling one, usual blown headgasket scenario, but has a set of JIC coilovers all round, adj camber tops etc, think he only wants $500 for it from memory.

danmcccc
Post #2062

wow hektic cheap gate...i think ill stick with whats proven and go the tial...cheap gate could be the undoing of my entire build, gone all out so far so 300 bucks wont be missed :|
