doesnt look too bad, but you know you can legally drive turbocharged S15s on their Ps now due to the power to weight ratio rule?

You were idling outside my house, I was wondering what the racket was. Damm kids and their noisy exhaust systems.

You can't drive s15's on your P's don't listen to that dude -__-
You can drive a turbo/supercharged car if it's power to weight ratio is 125kw/tonne or under.

Yeah I know man it's a nice car. Just annoys me when people obviously have problems with basic mathematics and talk rubbish on forums because somebody else said it's true.
You gonna keep it black on black dude?

Btw when I say "you can't drive s15's", I mean sr20det's, obviously sr20de's are all deezy.

    Pheonix
    Post #18

Hahaha yeah tongue.gif I wasn't going to risk it with a turbo anyways, i'd get sick of being pulled over.

Thanks man, I need to get the kit replaced (one of the previous owners has some hectic drift dammage - he hit a pole), and the front bar is farked.

So I'll keep it like it is for now, I need to change my indicators because it passed a road worthy, other than that idk.

it's probably a cheap respray, no offence. Autechs never came in black, so it's been resprayed and by the looks of front bumper, very poorly.

You should totally do a 20v VE head swap, n1 cams, tune, and get a higher final drive. You already have sufficient intake and headers being an autech model, plus autech compression is already ideal so pistons would not be needed. Would have a 170ishrwkw mad P-plate legal weapon. Seeing as it's just a head swap so police would be none the wiser. all for around 8k.

Yeah fuck that. You're a fucking Cunt if you do this to your car. As much as it may look pretty fuckin cool, Other motorists can barely see your fucking brake lights which is just fucked. Someone could die because you wanted to illegally make your tail lights cool.
    Fuck.

i like it how it is.. but i am confused why are people saying you cant drive the spec-s sr20det on the P's??

Certificate of exemption for driving a high-powered (performance) vehicle

If you hold a P1 or P2 licence you may be eligible for a certificate of exemption to enable you to drive a high-powered (performance) vehicle. Please read the Certificate of Exemption high-powered vehicle Information Sheet (form S4478) for further information.

You are eligible to apply for an exemption to drive a high-powered (performance) vehicle if you can prove that one of the following circumstances applies to you.

    1. Moderately-powered turbocharged or supercharged vehicle

You may apply for a certificate of exemption if the vehicle you wish to drive meets all of the following:
•has a turbocharged or supercharged engine that is not diesel powered
    •has a power-to-weight ratio of not more than 125kW/t
•does not have any other features of a high-powered vehicle as outlined above.

The power-to-weight ratio means the ratio (expressed in kilowatts per tonne) calculated by dividing the car’s maximum engine power in kilowatts by the kerb weight and multiplying the product of the division by 1000. For example, the power to weight ratio of a vehicle that has a maximum engine power of 195kW and a kerb weight of 1667kg would be calculated as follows: (195÷1667) × 1000 = 117kW/tonne

Check if your vehicle is a moderately-powered turbocharged or supercharged vehicle*.

now i dont know 100% the specs on the sr20 or the spec-s but according to redbook

    Power = 147kW @ 6400rpm
    Kerb Weight (kg) = 1265

    Therefore 147/1265 x 1000 = 116.21kW/tonne

To me that is under the 125kW/tonne limit??

Fuck off, stop acting like you know what you're on about. For one, gl finding a 20v head for a decent price, would be a shit tonne easier to just get an ordinary 16 or 20VE head and do the work to that, differences in flow are marginal and aftermarket ecu would be needed either way so going back to dizzy from coil on plugs wouldn't be much extra work. The thing I love is that you reckon it'll make 170kw atw bowrofl.gif
Mate, with the mods you've listed and staying 2 litre you'd be fucking cheeeeering if you got 140kw to the rears! Pulsars/primeras et. all fwd VE cars would be struggling to make 140 at the fronts with those mods, let alone sending that power all the way down the bum.

    Keep dreaming smile.gif

8g just for a head swap??? wouldn't it be easier just to wait until hes on his opens, then spend 8k on a turbo and some other modifications?

Car looks good mate, black suits the car very well thumbsup.gif
