Fpv's come with a dark blue tapet cover. And the same coil cover.

Every turbo falcon built after 06/06 came with same motor as the FPVs (stronger rods, slightly better valve springs than ba turbos)

Fpv started the painted rocker cover, and have carried it through.

Feel free to confirm this on any ford forum, or even call ford spare parts.

QUOTE (Anchor @ Mar 19 2012, 10:30 PM) *
You're missing his point. It's the same motor regardless of tappet cover colour. Whether it came in an XR6T or a Typhoon.

QUOTE (henz @ Mar 20 2012, 08:12 AM) *
Ahh because it's stronger buddy. I wouldn't push 360 out of a BA motor + stock valve springs.

Doesn't matter how it looks bonnets shut when I drive.

So. What you're saying is. They're both the same motor. But they are different because the FPV motor is stronger. But they are the same with different tappet cover color and coil pack cover. But yours is the FPV motor with the standard red tappet cover and ford coil pack cover.

They are the same. But different. Ok. Makes sense.

Make up your minds. One of you is saying the FPV motor and XR6T motor is the same thing. The other is saying the FPV motor is stronger. Completely missing my question. If the FPV motor has BLUE tappet cover and FPV coil pack cover (And apparently, stronger rods/valves/valve springs). WHY have you put the RED tappet cover and FORD coil pack cover on the FPV motor? I don't need an explanation about why they are different but the same.

Edit: If the point you were trying to make is, they are both a 4LTR turbo I6. Duh. I'm well aware they are. I'm aware they are almost exactly the same, with a few different internal pieces, and more boost.

Fuckkk boost is still full of the same idiots.

Ok, after 06/06 EVERY turbo falcon (FPV and xr6t) came with the exact same motor. Same rods, same valve springs, every part. The xr6ts though, still have the red tapet cover. Fpv have continued the blue theme they started originally.

As for a BA making 360, can 450 if you want. But I personally wouldn't & didn't with my own BA.

Yeah, you're one of them. Read what I'm saying you moron.

You have said you have an FPV motor. The picture you posted is clearly an XR6T motor. FPV have blue. Ford has red. Yours has red.

WTF? Don't spin this on me. ANSWER THE DAMN QUESTION.

FFS. I understand they are the same motor. Stop trying to tell me that. Answer my question. FPV has blue. YOU MOTOR, that is pictured above. Is red. Why.

So you have an XR6t motor. Not FPV because you have the red tappet cover. Regardless if they are the same thing besides what they look like. Yours looks like an XR6t motor not FPV.

Ahh the old retaliation of "fuck this site is full of xxxxx"

Just fess up. You said it has an FPV motor to make it look better than it is.

It's an XR6 motor. That's all.

Like yourself, we know what is in the later XR motors.

You are the ford equivalent of LSx owners using chev badges.

Lawl. See an Fpv badge anywhere? You are the equivalent of the typical deadshit smile.gif

Your clutching at straws to try troll/ make an argument out of nothing.

The motor, is the same as an Fpv motor. Hence why I stated in brackets. If you already knew this, why all the questions is what I don't get. That's why I think your just failing to grasp the fact that they are the same minus a little bit of paint.

I put it there in brackets as a lot of people don't know that the later motors share the same bottom end, comprende?

SO, Twincam was right. You're the ford equivalent of Holden owners putting Chev badges on their Commodores. Because they are essentially the same motor (Like the Chev lumina!) You decided that you'd put that its a Typhoon motor for no reason whats so ever. For the last bloody time. I'm aware they are the same motor. What I dont get, is why you're calling it a Typhoon motor, When it isn't. What it is, is an XR6T motor with some head work.

And I'm the deadshit. Ok, right.

Lawl again at how desperate you are to be right.

Like I said, see an Fpv badge?

The point is, early xr6t = shit motor, late model = good motor.

That make sense for you or would it be easier for you to read if it was written in crayon.

I said EQUIVALENT, far out... English, is it your second language.

Lets look at the facts...

Your car is not an FPV, does not have an FPV motor, therefore calling the motor an FPV motor is just sackriding FPV's.

A commodore is not a Chev. Therefore putting a Chev badge on it is sackriding Chev.

Get it now durwood?

It's not our fault you couldn't afford an F6.

Actually the motor is built by Fpv, so Fpv bottom end. Feel free to point out any differences mechanically for me though.

Would have loved an f6 but at my age it's not the end of the world. Still better than what you own smile.gif

So what is the go? Stronger. The same as. We're not comparing the BA motor to whatever your motor is.

In one part you're saying the FPV have better internals. In another. You're saying they're exactly the same.

What I am saying, for the last time, for the love of god. If you are saying you have an FPV Typhoon motor in your car (Which have different internals, separating it FROM the XR6T motor) Why the fuck does YOUR motor have the standard XR6T red covers? You're not answering the question. At all. You're just trying to prove they are the same (But, different) trying to convince us its an FPV motor.

If you have built it to similar secs. You have built the XF6T motor. Doesn't make it an FPV motor. For the love of god. Answer the fucking question.

Is it that you have built your BA XR6T motor to those specs? Is that it? Then its still not an FPV motor. For crying out loud. All it looks like you're doing, is convince me its an FPV motor, when it left the factory as a BA XR6T motor.

I give in.

You've quoted it and you still don't understand.

Ok, here you go guys. After 06/06, FPV make all the turbo motors. With no differences ok.

Keeping up?

Coz here's the tricky bit.

Before fitting to the Fpv, they paint the rocker cover.

Woah.

So for the rest of the xr6ts, they leave it red.

I don't know how to make it any clearer.

They are exactly the same.

This is bf2 not BA.

I think what they are having a go at you about is calling it an FPV motor. It may be the same as an FPV motor but it did not come out of an FPV. Thats my understanding anyways.

Hang about , i'm about to bolt a red rocker cover on my F6 but there's no FPV internals it's got ATOMIC parts

and i have a Territory Turbo rocker cover on my N/A and it has ATOMIC parts as well but there is no turbo how is this possible..

So using your reasoning anyone that has a LS1 powered Holden can claim to have a HSV motor as the are the exact same engine? If they are the same motor we fucking name drop?

They are indeed the same thing. But, several times you've said that you have an FPV bottom end. Or that the FPV have stronger valves, springs, etc. So you tell us.

Exactly. If you can claim that your motor is an FPV. People with LS1's and a mafless can claim they have a HSV engine. Awesome!

Ok the arguing is doing my head in haha. Here it is in plain and simple (Now don't take this as if I'm saying it entitles an XR owner to an FPV badge)

BA, BAII, BF I XR6T - Shitty valve springs and thinner/weaker conrods. Power limit with stock bottom end but aftermarket V.springs is around the 330rwkw+ have seen them pump out 360rwkw but its pretty much tick tick BOOM.

BA Typhoon and 06/2006 BFII XR6T/Typhoon onwards untill FG - Have same motor all with stronger valve springs and rods than previous model. Only difference between the FPV and XR is the rocker cover and ECU mapping. Will handle around 400rwkw un-opened motor.

FG XR6T - Smaller turbo and intake plenum are the main differences. I'm pretty sure the FG F6 has ther same motor as BFII Typhoon less plenum.

Simple.

Ohh i see.

So i am right in saying that he is simply sack riding the FPV name.

It's the same as when Silvia owners mention they have a blacktop SR in the s13 trying to sack ride s14 / s15 motors...
