yeh ive heard diff things about them running around flat 12s but havnt looked into it much
and yeh HSV has to do somehting soon this day n age 330rwhp doesnt cut it.
there still nice cars just yeh they have to keep up

Well that all depends on how much your car weighs, I suppose.

just an evolutionary thing, ford blew holden out of the water with the gtho falcons, than holden come back years later with the brock commodores, than in 2000 the ls1 was released and blew all the fpv range out of the water for years, the 300kw vx gts was punching out 4.7-4.8 0-100 times ten years ago. wasnt really until the fg range was released that ford has moved the posts again, agree with wolfman though both fg/ve ranges are heavy cars think there 1800+kgs

yeh thats it ay they all swap and change as the years go on

It makes a difference. They MUST be able to shed some weight. My 365hp only translates to 290-ish at the wheels, but the car still manages a 12.7. If they took 100kgs off the next gen HSVs/FPVs imagine what they'd be capable of...

luland
Post #75

yeh thats it
wieght is a huge thing, i think mine is 1840kgs

TurboXR
Post #76

Its not just about the weight though, look at the R35 Skyline they weigh in around 1730kgs now, difference is the AWD, chassis setup + All the electronic driver aids lol. The FPVs and HSVs are very good for the price and it isnt hard to make them handle even better camber kit, coil overs and sway bars is all it really takes.

luland
Post #77

yeh ive got coil overs and im lookin at upgrading my sway bars so this thing handles as good as i can get it
but it handled thatgood standard ay i couldnt beleive it no body roll or anything

I find it hard to believe that it has no body roll, a 1850kg Ford sedan, come on. They are a bargin buy though. When I purchase a new car mid year, i'll look into them for sure. However, like Wolfie made mention to, the weight is still a killer.

All the reviews say that the e3 series hsvs handle far better than the fpvs, if you want the handling, cabin features etc go the hsv, but straight line grunt go the fpv, what I did find interesting was they were recording the exact same 0-100 times, but the rolling acceleration of the gt was a lot better

im just goin off driving the cars and what felt better through the corners but yeh there not much in it
i just thought the commy woulda handled heaps btter goin off all the reviews but id test drive a gt if anyone thought they didnt handle good for a big car

Decals look pretty gay.
So does spoiler, maybe get a Herrod rear ducktail spoiler?

Wheels look okay, but you need wider rims so you can run 315's.
Such an old school style of wheel doesn't set a falcon off too nicely..
get something with plenty of concave.. ce28's?

luland
Post #84

why go so wide when it doesnt need to be that wide?
they look good as is.
and without the decals they just look like every other GT
id rather ppl know its the supercharged GT nyways im happy

luland
Post #85

id go without a spoiler but bob tails look gay as fuck

Hmm ok so here is a breakdown of your stock power figures because baised on this information ford must be seriously underclaiming thier power figures,

This calculation is worked out on a 22% loss of hp / kw from engine to wheels which is about right.

Ok... so your stock engine / exaust claim of 340rwkw = 414.8 engine kw, or 462.27rwhp which = 563.64 Bhp.
However with an exaust and tune you are now expectant to see 460rwkw or 625.4rwhp which = 561.2 engine kw or (Wait for it) 725.5BHP

When are they going to bring out the 1000hp falcon to challange the Veyron?

TurboXR
Post #89

^^ No idea lol. Watch and learn...Cat back exhaust, tune, pulley swap and chemically Intercooled made 430rwkw.

There are a few videos of these pulling 335+rwkw dead stock.

luland
Post #90

yeh mate im not claiming nothing thats not true ive seen a few of these pull 330rwkw but yeh mine made 343rwkw i dnt really know but im happy with the result

Simmons look great on it. Don't really like the GT stripes or whatever it is going down the side of the car although it is possibly a Ford thing.

luland
Post #95

yeh in the pics they loook pre average but in real life the wheels and the stripes look good together
ive seen the exact car without the stripes and just looks plain
