I literally put a deposit down on it the day it rocked up to the dealership, it hadnt been complied or even detailed from the trip over at the time hah. As I walked out after chucking down the deposit, some guy walked in asking whether it was for sale, I got a little lucky lucky as. rare too. my cousin has the silver one. are you sure its only 170kw? keep the MR BOV though, those are worth quite a bit. |

oops, I think I put the standard VIII power, should be just over 200kw at the wheels If anyone knows the exact power output at the wheels, feel free to let me know, I was told at time of purchase, but the numbers slip my mind! i thought it was at least 220 if its jdm but thats just me |

Nice! What did it set you back if you don't mind me asking? $33,500 drive away with 2 years warranty. The evo has been my dream car since I was like 12, and I thought that while I have job security, I'd get one whilst still young enough to enjoy it completely. I wanted one of these for ages, but the wife refuses to give up her GTI for it! Love the car tho, sounds like you are going to mod it just right! Hah well I love Golf's also, and was looking at Mk4 R32's and GTI's. I've fallen in love with this car already, it wants to be manhandled, and I feel completely safe driving anywhere I go thanks to the AWD. About the only thing I could sook about is the turbo lag hah. |

I think you will find that you're right. 206kw and around 385nm or torque is the stock Evo 8 MR. Yet I agree with N16t, I have also personally seen stock evo 8 MR making 215 to 220kw and 400nm stock as a rock. The 4g63 is very unpredictable in constant power outputs. Thats on engine dyno's though, not at the wheels. So you're stock power figures are a measurement at the engine from factory. So roughly 155-160awkw to the road |

Good luck with it mate! thanks for that! it's pretty hard to find a decent amount of detailed specs for my car, so you guys have helped heaps! any tips for essential mods, and more importantly, some of the things that can go wrong with these things? I've asked around but havent really heard all that much about mechanical, more just cosmetic and some things to check over with imports |

I've asked around but havent really heard all that much about mechanical, more just cosmetic and some things to check over with imports They can get all the normal issues that 4wd turbo cars get, gearbox/transfer case problems, clutches going especially if you start modding. Mine 9 had a faulty gearbox seal. My suggestion would be leave it stock until your warranty runs out, even though I doubt warranty will even cover such issues. They are a great car, cant say reliable, but hey maybe I just got a dud.. |
