will the lincoln roof fit? LOL!!!

pretty bad day for you, and I told you I had been wrong once before....... this makes twice!

aweful looking rims.

anybody buy street machine? should have another article in this issue. Silver torana hatch.

Is that yours?...The Torrie, i mean.

The LX hatch ANARCHY ... seen it in another mag feature XTREME HOLDENS or something similar

Chopped and couped XF looks interesting, don't care for the colour or the interior but the outside metal work is damn sweet, raised rear quarters look bitchin. Some frenched in driving lights would of completed the front bumper a bit better though

Doesnt look like the rear quarters are raised. Just looks like the sheetmetal that would have been the rear door has been extended to meet it, instead of sitting a couple of inches lower than the bootline as standard. I agree about the front bar- looks too plain.
Whole car looks pretty cool but wow what an odd vehicle to use as a base.

You mean, "What an UGLY vehicle to use as a base."

Totally agree.
I can appreciate the workmanship gone into it, but I hate pretty much the entire car. Interior is wayyy out there. Paint is crap. Wheels crap. Chop, coupe conversion etc. Its done to the wrong car!
I'll take the driveline though. I don't know what it is but i'm guessing its either a stroker SB or a standard stroke BB blown of course, C4/6 followed by a 9".

Man... Wb you're way off. I LOVE the xd/xe/xf shape. Nuts, right? But yeah I've had an xd, two xfs, two xe's. But they are what they are and try are NOT worth doing that too haha...
Xe were the last aussi muscle tho in my opinion. The xe ESP. Last full size Aussie sedan, with a big v8. Love it.

This a joke right?

Like WB said, I can appreciate the workmanship, but that thing is uglier than the ugly car it started out as!

I saw that at the newsagent and shuddered.

Fairly sure they've extended the rear door to meet up with the boot line to give the Cuda / Camaro rear door lines

I don't think it was the wrong car to execute the concept on, if they had modified it as it was built from the factory that way; and had less blinged out show details it would have been a more interesting car

Driveline specs are:

QUOTE
ENGINE

351 Cleveland: Venolia pistons; Carrillo rods; Crower solid roller cam; BDS 871 supercharger; Enderle hat converted to EFI; Airflow Dynamics aluminium heads; ignition (EMS crank trigger converted to flywheel); Programmable Logic Controller (PLC)
TRANSMISSION

C4 gearbox; fabricated bell-housing and inspection plate; large capacity aluminium sump (with smooth casing); full floating 9-inch Detroit locker with 31 spline axles; pinion extension housing

I just think the combination of the square roof with the rasied/curved rear quarters looks fucked.

That yellow thing above is ugly to start with and the purple one looks like the mutant offspring which resulted when an early celica got drunk and had sex with previously mentioned ugly yellow thing in a dark alley outside a seedy bar in the Valley.

There's really nothing to like about it at all I'm afraid.

Does anyone know where to get old school size tires, roughly 235-60-14 and 205-60-14, and preferably BFG T/A's at a good price? The guys on ebay can do a set for $800 to my door but no stock til dec, is there a way I can bypass them and get straight from supplier, or cheaper from OS?

Big Tyre Group at Lawnton can help you out.

Mike got me a set of tyres in like 2 days. had 215/70/14's for the back and 185/75/14's for the front all brand new and fitted cast me just over $400.

they are nankangs I think.

This in the wet!

Unless you want skidders for the back when it rains! Just get a decent set for the front. I'd recommend Bridgestone Potenza RE050's for wet weather (they come standard on my car) but they are dear as posion for a 2nd year apprentice. $500+ a tyre for highway duty, no thanks.

mate of mine has a beautiful HK Monaro.

he was driving it home from the Monaro Nationals last september and hit some water, he spun and landed backwards in a ditch.... he had T/A's on.... they are crap and do more harm than good. I would seriously look for betterer tyres.

the Monaro is now all back together and is getting a BIG horsepower injection pretty soon.

i had T/A's on some hotwires i sold a few weeks ago, they had like 100% tread but they just looked old as hell, had cracks all over them, feel sorry for whoever put them on a car...

I have an old pair of stocko's with 99.9% tread on the tyres off my jetski trailer but the tyres are OLD (well look it). Best idea ever, skid the stocko's on my new ute as I put 19s on the trailer. Studs are to big and the wheels won't go on sad.gif Very sad day sad.gif

you can get bridgesone RE001's for 14's iirc, would be a better choice?

no more holdens
Post #1959

The good ole T/As, slippery when wets (as mentioned)
But isnt the new breed of T/As a better pattern and design ???
Getting anything wide in a 14" is rare and dear as poison

Speakin of my user name,
Ive been offered an HG kinga for a good price , and well i dont wanna do it
But the offer could be just too good to refuse
Just not sure IF moving out (or getting kiked out) is worth bringing it home

Ill check it out in the next few days
