hey people. i know some people dont like 300's because they are shit cars bla bla bla, but can you mad scientists please give me some info on a 2jz conversion to a 300zx. i know it has been done before but i cant seem to find enough info on it, and i think it will be an awsome conversion to my 300zx since i blew up the original vg30de motor. and some info on the modifications included with this, and the rough price of the conversion thank you and i hope to hear for you....... |

I think a tape measure might crush your dreams..... A JZ is 725mm long and nearly 600mm high, might want to check the size of your 300's engine bay. exactly a simple problem with a complicated solution, the JZ engine is too big for the 300's already cramped engine bay. It barely fits in a 3 liter v6, never mind a 3 liter I6. just get a supra if you really want to fap over jz series engines |

Have you thought about going LS1 conversion? Has been done a few times and you can get the kit (adaptors both wireing and mounts) from the states. Looked into it when I blew the VG30DETT in my old one. |

Thanks a lot to the people who actually knew what they were talking about i appriciate that, decided to put another vg30 in it and spending the rest of the money on other goodies saw this outcome coming a mile away. Thats not to say it isnt the best option. A conversion to another engine isnt always the easiest way, there are normally plenty of more logical and economical ways to gain power and fix the issue of having a busted engine. ANother VG30, and even a VG30DETT, would have been cheaper and easier in both short and long term, than a 2JZ. Probably 1 in 100 boostcruising 'i want to put (insert random engine with no logical reason or thought structure about why it is the right engine for the job) into my (insert 20+ year old car that isnt worth the hassle)' threads actually result in the engine conversion taking place. |
