Well, it's do-able, it just won't ever be very easy due to the older and more comfort designed suspension geometry. I reckon you'd need custom tie rod ends and some kind of castor adjustment as you'll need a shit-ton of steering lock to get that thing around quickly sideways. Lock the diff too probably unless you can afford a KAAZ LSD. Ummmm, maybe some stiff swaybars too to help it transfer the weight better. The only other Ford i've seen drifting was an EA that had a 1jzgte conversion done to it. Stock borg warner rear diff though, just welded up.

EDIT: And massive weight saving measures will be needed. Get all the sound proofing, interior, boot trim, everything out of that car as it probably weighs in around 1500-1600kg.

As said above "Its do-able" but i think your in a world of hurt with this project to be done correctly.

There is a reason you don't see Many if Any of these on the track.

All the best tho, plese don't let the comments draw you away from this. Would be a shame to poor big $$$ and get no where.

are you sure it actually has a toploader in it?
pretty pointless conversion if your only running the cross flow..

anyway good luck, but sadly your already behind the 8 ball if u want it to be a drift car

Just to show it can be done...watch this XD Falcon running a 351 setup for drifting

This is at Hidden Valley, NT. Saw it on display at 2010 NT All Ford Day when I lived up there. I think Theres also another vid on youtube of a xf ute with a turbo 4.1 xflow drifting.

sell it! you can drift anything as long as you put enough money into it. but this thing is about as useful for drift as a smart car. sell it andbuy a dirty silvia.

I think it"s quite funny that alot of people think that drifting can only be done in an import or similar. Drifting is all about driver control. Not " i'll rip everything out out my car and make it weigh 200kgs lighter so it'll slide easier." Just about anything can be drifted as long as you know how to drive propoerly and know the limits of the car you're driving. there is an xe falcon 6 cyl manual on youtube somewhere that does what i think a good job of drifting. Good luck with it and have FUN.

ignore all the jap lovers, there is an xf wagon that drifts quite well and also a ute that has been drifting down south.

given these weigh arould 1350kg(100kg more then an s14), some good springs and a decent power up and a 9" will see you sliding till your hearts content.

there are lots of front end parts available for these to allow you to make the necessary adjustments
