hey all. sorry if this is already posted on here but i was wondering what the difference is between the ford ef/el/au stud pattern is? i went to buy a set of awesome rims but the add says not pre au.... whats the go..... cheers all

All the same stud pattern.

EA-AU are all the same offset. BA onwards have different offset to EA-AU

stud pattern the same but the offset is different on the au rims ef-el are the same.

AU offset is +36.5, "pre AU" is 0 to +6. I have 17x8 +5 on my car.

No stud pattern difference just offset. Gotta run 20mm spacers on the front of pre-au fords or they hit your strut towers

Stud pattern is all the same, 5x114.3
the difference is offset, hub to hub widths in the ea-el are shorter with near neutral offset (around +7 i think)
AU and up run longer huh to hub width with a larger offset (around +29 afaik)

In short:
if you put au wheels on a ef, your car will look like a hover craft, if you put ef wheels on a au they hang out side the guards.

whats with the offset? what does it mean. shouldnt bf rims fit on an ef if its the same stud pattern? sorry to sound stupid but im new to fords haha

EA-EL are 0 to +6 in an 8" wheel. I have +5 17x8's on my NC. AU-FG are +36.5.

The hub mounting face on the wheel in a BF is roughly 30mm closer to the front lip of the wheel, pushng the inner of the wheel into the upright.

Offset refers to where the wheel centre is. On the AU, the centre is more towards the face of the wheel, whereas pre AU falcons it sits closer to the centre of the wheel. This means that the same wheels on an AU and EL will sit completely different.

Low offset (ie less than +20mm, through to negative offsets) -> Wheels towards guard
High offset (ie greater than +20mm) -> Wheel sitting closer to the suspension.
