The RB30 is longer then the old engine and probably doesnt want to cut the firewall

i guess its clean and looks well done... but if your gunna go to that kinda of trouble getting an engine in surely you could come up with something better than a RB30.. fair enough an rb20/25 might not have fine but maybe an SR20??

Nice engine to be in such a vehicle but yeah SR would be better.

Not a bad conversion, I can imagine it would be cost effective. Rb30's cost nothing at all, and in stock NA form, are extremely hard to blow up / wreck at all. The weakest points are the sensors (crank angle and water temp).

This would make a good burnout car with a spooled diff

I would say the torque from the RB30 would be quite nice if he was to ever carry anything as well. Cheap as too.

I had a Navara with a SR20T in it and believe me it was a tight squeeze also. I currently have another Navara under construction that is being prepped for it's 20B turbo driveline.

Your conversion doesn't look out of place other than the thermo sticking out the front.

Other engines I considered were, another SR20T, V6 from later model Navara (turboed), Lexus V8, RB25T, LS1 and a few other weird ones.
