PICS

Plans:

Basically I am happy how the car sits at the moment. Plenty of power for the 900-odd kilos it weighs, if anything I would strip it out further (no rear seats, spare etc) aiming for 850 kilos or so and that's it. Drive the wheels off it smile.gif

That's the idea, I am sick of getting pulled over in my other car so I wanted something with a decent punch, that was good on fuel, handled well and that I could park anywhere and no-one would mess with it.

This fits the bill perfectly. My FC on the other hand does not...

That's a bit tricky to answer... Peak power comes in at 7400 rpm or so and most can make it to 10,000 rpm but realistically its more like 8500-9000 rpm. If you don't know they have variable valve timing which helps out a bit but I would hazard a guess and say that it is mostly in place for fuel economy. On that front it does approximately 600klms to a tank.

there is no point revving a stock silver top to 10,000rpm. all it does past 7400 is make noise and lower the life of your engine, not accelerate you faster. better to rev it to 8000 and pop the next gear. nice sleeper though how do you find the kings? they were wayy to soft in my 82.

That's basically what I said mate, they CAN rev that high but there is no point.

Excellent actually, they seem very stiff. Could be a quality control issue?

The rear cusco brace was a cusco brace for a silvia I believe (don't hold me to that) it didn't fit so I jumped on autocad and used a cnc machine to bash out some new plates. I might make a few more adjustments but it works well.

The vvt controller is nothing special, as I said simple. It tells me when the vvt is working (red led wired in line), can turn the vvt permanently off or on and if my thoughts are correct I believe I can wire in a variable resistor and make it come on at a certain point in the rev range (wired to vvt switch, tachometer output and whatever other variables I might like). It is very simple.

I haven't been there but I will and I'll upload the car if there is a members rides section.

In other news, I am thinking about changing to a blacktop ecu and going with velocity stacks, but I have heard that the black top ecu makes it run a tad rich and robs a bit of power. So I'm not too sure about that. Also I plan on taking it to the next drag meet for sh!ts and giggles. So I'll know how fast it actually is soon enough.

Also its now kind of for sale but only really for swaps. I just want something different, and when I think about it I have no justifiable reason to sell.
