Colour scheme for the Nova. Sticking to the no chrome. Might even leave the colour it is now and just tidy it up but get rid of chrome. If not, i'll go grey. But definately want the black bumpers, grille, window surrounds, door handles, etc etc etc.

Gunna try find some 17x9.5's for the front to match the back.

Its a 202 full bottom end, flat top racing pistons hardened push rods, weighed and balanced ect. It was being set up for NOS so every things been built right. Spent over $2000 on parts alone. Taking it to the swap meet aswell, i think hes looking for $1000-$1500 - just had a chat to my brother and he said he will tae what ever he can get for the bottom end

Looks awesome mate. thumbsup.gif

If you're set on the black bumpers, definitely need the grey rather than the blue paintjob (IMO).

Still thinking of the LS1? Or have you come back to the good side. mamoru.gif

+10 points for the front wheels idea too, would look mighty tough.

So had spent my first full weekend of tinkering with the Torana, things a newbie learnt

1. Jiggle a 202 off an input shaft, don't try to yank it
2. A 202 can be filled with bolts ranging from 11 - 23mm or anything the last person that tinkered with your engine can get a hold on
3. 80 grit sand paper is a little bit to strong for 'scuffing' paint work
4. It ain't working on your car until you've skinned your knuckles
5. It ain't working on your car until you've skinned the knuckle you skinned 5 minutes ago
6. Thinners and degreaser do NOT belong in skinned knuckles
7. Crinkle dick paint gets the bitches
8. Case of Canadian Club and dry works wonders

I help do the bro in laws HZ kingy about , oh 1,000 years ago
Was the blue/greeny colour (cant remember which, was the factory colour)
We done a few solid colours, then added a touch of clear and increased the clear as the layers went on
Its was blocked back during coats, done in the driveway (yeah young and lacking $$$)
Once finished the final block down and a polish
The paint came out deep youd near swim in it
Plenty of coats so you dont rub threw to primer, even a polish on minimal coats can quickly wear the top coat down

I'm not really a fan of clear over the white as it usually goes yellow.

I'm actually painting with acrylic this weekend for the first time, painting my brother in laws vs commodore roof and boot laugh.gif haha. I've only ever used 2 pak when I used to spray boats so should be interesting. I've had heaps people tell me acrylic is easy as piss to paint with, so if I can spray a 40% summer thinned 2 pak fairly well on a vertical panel thats 20m long and 2m high, I should piss it in. wink.gif
(If you saw the cars in his garage you would laugh at him in a vs too haha)

My wife's commo is really starting to piss me off.
Last week we had to get a new steering rack put in it, then new tyres and wheel alignment.
Then yesterday, it died on her. Had to get a new alternator!
Then when she finally got to my work to pick me up (we were car pooling yesterday), I jumped in the drivers seat and promptly reversed into an industrial bin!
It will take me a while to live that one down - lucky it's "just a commodore!" (Wife didn't like that comment!) lol
