Spoilers are fucking disgusting. Visors are awesome, but i have always thought they wouldn't suit a ute as much as a sedan. Sedans for me still have to be the right colour, as most of the original colours are awful, and must have a white roof to suit.

I wish i could have my car looking like a stock cruiser, but the visors, and stock wheels dont suit the utes IMO. So i will just co the typical retro look. Billit Wheels FTW!

I like. thumbsup.gif

I'm starting to worry about you Nathan.

First the commo, now you say hairdryers are better than cubes - what's the world coming too?

Next you'll be selling the tonner to buy a skyline! mamoru.gif

You can blame me for that trend ...

Sell a Skyline GT-R and later buy a Torana oopsie.gif

My car should be getting a bit of rust cut out in the coming weeks and i was wondering if i could get them to cut the rear wall cabin of the ute and create a parcel shelf. I have seen heaps of pics of it done and it looks great. Would it be legal if it was done by a professional and with a mod plate? or is it strictly a no go zone as it is a structural support?

Why cut? Is there no way you can find a parcel shelf from a sedan and narrow it (width wise, as in front to back of it) and spot weld it in with original braces so it appears to be a factory thing? I doubt it'd fit at full width but if you narrowed it it might.

I could possibly do this for you if you bring me your car and a sedan parcel shelf / braces.

Got this far:

Then stopped. unsure.gif

Giving up the idea - makes the car look cheap and kinda not finished, if that makes sense. I know it was always going to be a 'different' look, but I was hoping it will still look kinda nice, but yeah, just doesn't. Think the exotics can pull it off just because they're exotics, haha.

Plus, I'm one of those weirdos who actually like polishing their cars so I'd probably miss that. And the fact sitting inside looking over the bonnet it looked so boring, no nice shiney reflections.

Sooooooo sold the remaining vinyl and will be going for a nice new shiney paintjob, once I can move the car anyway.

I saw a flat black Camaro same year as yours on uh.. Vienna? Rd, at Mt Cotton / Alex Hills area and turned onto Redland Bay Rd. Was quite a tough sounding and looking car. Think it had like Convo Pros or something on it. I thought of yours when i saw it, it was pretty badass.

Oh sorry it wont work i actually,i want it like an extra cab. Make the rear wall straight instead of on an angel.

Ohhhh. Quite a bit of fab there. I'm sure i've seen guys use the rear roof section of a wagon to do it before. I could do it but i don't feel like taking on a job that size.. and if you want extra cab kind of.. would you have a smaller rear side window? Like a space cab? Or still just have the single door window?

It would look super tough, but just not for me. Going to go a crazy blue I think - kinda like this:

If I were to ever want flat black again, I'd probably just paint it. Vinyl is easy enough to do and cheap, but the finish isn't what I was after.

besides the "no speed restictions" and the "cheap fuel," sounds like my Valiant!
Add bench seats, no heater/demister and vinyl floor mats and you've hit it right on the head, and that's my daily driver.
