Wow, I was expecting to see you had finally bought a car with the whole '3rd time lucky' saying. Guess its not always true. What brand of extractors did you go Jordan? Just hooker for the moment - I know they're nothing special but until I decide what to do with the engine, I'm not buying anything fancy. Plus, ceramic coated headers for $200, how could I say no Willing to give someone $250 if they can get the old headers out without lifting the engine... lol. Doing my head in... |

I know where there is a HR, 1 owner.... But its the usual old fart story of not wanting to sell. Got one better, a guy the next street over from me has a HK Monaro sitting in his carport, which is completely open to the road and right there for anyone to see. Been sitting about 4 years, i found it not long after i got my Kingswood and then forgot about it till the other day i drove past it. Fat ass that owned it said he was gonna restore it, 4 years ago. Still sitting the same place now, except the tires have long since gone flat. |

Haha, i know how you feel. Lucky next time i do it i'll have a lot more room Passenger side was no worries, drivers side was just stupid. Ended up dropping the steering box just to remove it.... ugh. But hey, I didn't want that anyway. So now with the ladderbars and steering box removed, I can't go forward/back or left/right - awesome! Feels like I'm going backwards with this thing. Also, might be leaving the pro-touring dream. I was lucky enough to go for a ride/drive of a similar car with a similar setup to what I was looking at and to be honest, I wasn't overly impressed (well, it was awesome and a HUGE improvement... but for my needs and the price, not so much). So looking at options for either 4-link coilover setup or just decent leaf up back, coilover up front with new arms and power steering rack&pinion. If I do this, will be getting another car for track / curvy roads and keeping the camaro for crusing and powercruise kinda things. Still up in the air at the moment, just another option I guess. Found a car that fits what I want if I do - 3 litre V8 that revs to 8k... mmmm. |

you guys will like this thread then.. QUOTE I remember seeing an E type Jag behind a house when I was a kid, it sat there for years, never moving, I'm talking about 1st spotting it when I was in 6th grade. When I was old enough to drive, I would drive by, leave notes as seemed no one ever answered the door. Well, finially, when I was 18, I saw the guy in front of the house, I hooked a U turn to get into his drive way before he could get in. I asked him what he was going to do with the XKE, his response;
Quote: Let it rot into the ground and I asked if he would sell it and wouldn't he like to see it back on the road, his answer Quote: I'm gonna let it rot into the ground A few years later, became friends with a guy who lived a few house away, when I found out where he lived, I asked him about it, (was was also a car guy and had restored some vintage muscle cars, but had just bought a Porsche) he said the XKE sat there until the guy died and was hauled as scrap, but no one ever found out WHY |

geez you are a noob!! some were painted, the luxury models (ie... statesman premier LS monaro) were adorned with vinyl roofs. That is an HQ premier in the pic you posted. the vinyl roofs rusted out underneath, glad mine was a solid full body colour. I am only painting it to break up the green.. Yeah, well the closest thing to a muscle car that was ever parked in the family garage growing up was an 80's and 90's model Ford Fairlane ! I thought this was a bit interesting |

and you have too many lights on the front. yeah, I know.... wish it was single light, but you don't balk at a prem in this condition for $3500 do you? btw, I always liked your car and it saddens me to know it is below par these days. and Jamie, that is a really nice HQ, tough but understated. |
