Gday boost, Was travelling up to gympie today, on the straight between nambour and yandina going alond the bruce highway i noticed two new cameras installed. there is one covering each lane facing approaching cars and a sign infront saying vechicle monitoring cameras with a picture of a car and a truck. Curious as to what exactly they are supposed to be monitoring? i had a brief search around but could find any info. i thought they could be there to pick up truckies driving for to long but the picture of the car threw me off. |

They are to monitor fatigue and speed in both cars and trucks if u get from point a to point b to quick ur gone for speeding, they work out ur average speed and compare it to there file for legal transit times . And same for fatigue if u go through certain cameras to quick they can tell u have not had sufficient rest breaks ( mainly trucks but could be used for cars if they believe u have driven well over a safe amount ) hope that helps. |

I noticed this last saturday (south) and tues (northbound) but how do they monitor fatigue, the car will be in shot for all of 1 second (maybe one frame) and not point to point, as there is no second point, jsut one camera per lane at one point on the north, and the same ont he south. |

Hey mate the new cameras they put up at Yandina monitor both trucks and cars... Trucks are for when the weighbridge is open they now have a way to check log book against a few cameras placed in QLD simular to the safety cams in NSW.. Cars are monitored for registration purposes wether defected or such.... The cameras between the twin Mobil servos and Coloundra are point to point as well as fixed cameras.. |

I noticed that there are two "speed looking" fixed cameras.. one near Johnsons Road and the other just before the Caloundra exit. Within the last week or so, they've mounted signs a kilometre or so before the camera's saying "Speed Camera, for road safety" or something like that.. yet there are no lines on the road to determined speed etc? |

Anyone know if theyre actually active or what? Yeah mate they are active... Im a truck driver that passes these cameras quite a lot and have seen the one at the Mobil servos go off on a speeding car so i can pretty much say they are active and that also tells me they are fixed cameras aswell as point to point.. |
