Why are you trying to turn this into muscle vs import? Your stereotyping, creating ideas in your head and most of what say contradicts what youve said earlier.

Also a commdore is not considered VIP if thats what you ment and you have 30,000 posts. Do you ever leave your computer to actually get near a car? Guessing you play WOW?

21,228 posts (7.15 per day)

If you did a quick check of his profile you would have seen the above.

Add the off topic posts. Average it out to say 10 posts per day. Honestly not that many.

The term "think before you speak" came to mind when I just read that part of your post you dickhead. He may be a bit of an angry mod sometimes and doesn't take shit from people.. but he definately knows his cars and knows how to modify his cars. You'd think seeing as you've been here since 03 you would have seen his VIP "commodore" either on here or around the traps.. fucking knob.

actually break the law down and its not a public car park.. so your WRONG

Well, actually it's a private car park which you are using by permission of the owners. But that doesn't mean any one of the group can restrict photography or where those photos end up. And for all intents and purposes, unless you're in a building with closed doors, that shit's public (commercial areas).

and can't believe you sold ohmy.gif kept the plates?

Yeah still have the plates, sold it as a rolling shell.

You know me and my taste in cars, I like to dabble in a lot of stuff, given this thread I think I should build something Euro or Jap again next.

And stick the big block in it tongue.gif

Seen a real nice merc the other day setup for small block, finny version, would be awesome with a BBC under the bonnet hidden away.

I'm not.

I'm using it as an example as to the difference's between enthusiasts, and elitists.

Obviously your head is so far up your ass you can't see that though.

I average 10 posts per day as someone pointed out. See that member number? See the join date? My bad that I can access Boost whilst I'm working, but cheer up emo kid, I'm sure theirs a rainbow on the horizon for you.

Oh, and you got me, your right, I don't know jack shit about JDM vehicles at all, I should just stick to my VN single legger, sorry to of bothered you........................

QUOTE (HSV @ Jun 7 2011, 09:55 PM) *
Like I said, it's an elitist attitude of members.

Take me for example, I've owned pretty much a bit of everything, drift, drag, VIP, etc.

I appreciate the work gone into most vehicles that just don't have a set of rims slapped on them with a kit to follow the latest bandwagon, things like Brad's VTEC, as much as I don't like Honda's I understand the work gone into it, Asia's old shitbox Civic, looked like ass, my HSV made more hp on idle than his did at full noise, but it was setup to corner and corner well it did, shitbox Civic or not.

The problem is, the elitist fucks in todays scene don't want their (lol) sacred scene to be mixed with by people who are into other vehicles. See the problem is, that you get a group of people who get a bandwagon happening, next it snowballs into a free for all and their elitist attitude rubs off on one another and spreads like a disease.

Ask Asia why he bought a Torana, why he doesn't have a GTR or another Import anymore, why he doesn't attend anywhere near the amount of meets he used to.

Why?

The attitude, that's why.

Old school car owners are happy to talk to you, happy to help, cruisy, no problems type of people. Import owners on the other hand want everything to be a big secret and strive to out do each other or be on top of the latest bandwagon/trend that's currently happening, won't go out of their way to help one another and are pretty much just downright selfish in their set acts. The tantrums in and out of this thread (which is now merged just in case anyone was wondering wtf was going on) are a perfect example of that, having a cry because it's on another forum? Sheesh.

BRB just telling Street Commodores not to post their Cruise for Charity on here in case a silvia rocks up and trys to drift to leave............

rolleyes.gif

Hi my names Asia, and I'm a car enthusiast

In honesty I have no beef with anyone in the import or muscle as I've had friends on both sides of the fence, though general observation suggest that the import crowd are younger and tend to not be as mature which gets them into trouble with the law more often then not.

But I can understand why the JDMST meets are what they are and the way the organizers wish to protect them.

In the early 00's the import scene was huge and we where free to cruise, Sunnybank Market Square was a busy spot every Thursday night where you could expect a good 200 - 300 cars gather in the surrounding car parks at 9pm without fail. Then around this time the internet was becoming far more available to everyone and more people talked about the meet and more people came, obviously shit got out of hand and then shop owners where getting cops / security to kick us out.

The meet spot then moved to the McDonalds across the road at Sunnybank Plaza; same thing ...

Then down the road to Pinelands shopping centre; same thing ...

In the space of about 4 - 5 years they had moved spots and all of them had been shutdown as unlike the muscle car meet spots Harry's, Ferry Rd and Munchies where the crowds can abide by the rules and not get kicked out the imports really didn't have much place to go before they where shown the door. Also around this time police where targeting imports / hoons more actively as they started to understand the types of cars being bought into the country and ACA / TTN started ranting about hoons on the TV.

So a handful of import owners decided to gather at random locations on the South and West sides by word of mouth screening those who came along; the initial group was around 5 - 10 cars one of the original group members will correct me on this and from their it grew; by word of mouth. This was around 2007 as I still had my Civic track / daily but fast forward 4 years and they now have meets as big as those I attended 10 years ago, which is an astonishing feet for an organized import meet given law enforcement these days

So I understand what the JDMST people have done, if you want to have a big meet; just like a big party you have to screen your guests. I believe they are not being 'elitist' but trying to sift between the good eggs and the bad as having open meets is a long dead thing of the past for import / P platers. Unfortunately the posting of meet photography on open forums is advertisement and makes the meets an open invite to those that they haven't screened.

So I wish the JDMST organizers well in providing a safe meeting spot for import owners to congregate where they need not fear the prosecution of the law provided they abide by the rules as this was something I took for granted when starting off in the scene in a time where the rules where far, far, far more lenient.

This is my 2 cents

Why don’t we start with what JDM really is; the term Japanese domestic market (JDM) refers to the local market in Japan for Japanese-made motor vehicles and components. As to why the organizers of these meets are trying to keep to Japanese cars.

The point as to why they don’t want to have it posted on boost has nothing to do with Holden, Ford ect drivers. Its not so much Boost’s fault for all the dickheads, it’s more the large amount of forum traffic that is on Boost (There are douchelords on all forums that think they are above everyone). As some say it does come down to word of mouth but if its not posted on boost its easier to know where the dickheads originate from and to control the bad attitudes! E.g. The Honda’s being idiots as they left clearly come from OzHonda! (Not pointing fingers, just using it as an example). If they are from JDM style tuning themselves, preventative measures can be taken against its own members for bringing us all down to the ‘Hoon’ level.

It’s nothing to do with it being elite, secretive, top shit, blah blah blah, it’s about having something that is our own. Example; Muscle cars have Munch Inn’s (I hate to say this, but the Holden and Ford drivers fall into this category no matter how much you want to argue the point, where did Holden and Ford start!) How many non MUSCULE CARS have been booed ect whilst driving through there!! Every style car is going to be hated on when they crash the other team’s party!

I understand that as ‘car enthusiasts’ we can all like the different styles of cars, I love muscle cars. But I think that the point that they are trying to make with these meets, is to come to see the Japanese cars. Drive up in your non JDM cars, but do as I do; when I rock up to Munch Inn’s in my SUBARU Forester, I park it out the back so not to take the ‘lime light’ per say away from the reason I go to Munch Inn’s (the muscle cars!).

We aren’t saying don’t come, we are trying to say be considerate as to what the meet in representing. We aren’t trying to start a war; we are trying to do something different!

I'll take whatever negative crap you want to throw at me,

No negative crap smile.gif

What you say is right, however what is being portrayed by the JDMST team is that people in other car's AREN'T welcome there also, hence also one of the reasons to keep it off these forums.

What makes forums are the people, Boost has a bad rep because of a handful of dickheads who can't follow rules, same as any forum just because of the sheer amount of members here, its seen on a larger scale.

That doesn't mean that every person who turns up from Boost is going to be a dickhead, hell I've been to a couple of these myself, surprise there, bet your guys didn't know that, right?

Any meet of that size is going to have its dickhead elements, to try to blame it solely on this forum is childish at best, we don't tell people to go do skids at events, and for the most part 90% of people are registered on a number of forums, so pin pointing one forum based on its size and possible past discretions is bullshit.

You guys have got to remember, that you are not angels, hell 99.9% of you have done shit the same as members on Boost, from racing, to skids, to drifting etc etc etc.

Are shopping centre carpark's public or private property?

EG - Back in pinelands days, after a while and more and more people coming.. which lead to STL's what happened? Police blocked the entire carpark off then the week after security was there to tell people to leave as soon as they turned into the carpark :S
