mate no matter what most of the tossers here tell you, you CAN get a exemption, and its NOT that hard, if you word your application as well as you worded your question id say you have a fair chance. it depends on where you work and doing what. why you cannot drive any other car. and how much shit you can talk. the only other thing i will say is dont fuckin do it. p plates and there restrictions are there for a reason, as much as you think your a good driver. your not. its only a couple of years of learning to drive and control your car. im sure you will get over it. if you have a need to drive fast/do hektik skids and drifts. buy a track car and dont risk the lives of others cos you think you will pull the babes when they hear you dosing up the street...

back on topic, i have seen at least ten of my mates get exemptions with little or no reason for it,. it is not hard. but it is stupid.

My friend is getting her ps shortly and the only car she has to drive is my s14 her immediate family don't own a car and she will be needing to get to tafe from her house which has no public transport. Is it possible to get an exemption for this.

I am on my opens so i don't completely understand the ins and outs of the restrictions.

WOW letting a female who just got her licence drive a turbo s14, sounds like a recipe for disaster.

Can you explain how he would word his application if they said "ok the laws have been in for 47 months now why would you have just bought a r33 gtst if you both knew you couldn't drive it and there is a non turbo option of the same car available?"

I went to school with a kid driving a HSV GTS with an exemption.

I think you may have a chance, but if you are being legit about it and not just driving the car for flutter - QLD transport will ask for your employment hours meaning you are only restricted to drive it TO and FROM work. ie. 6:30am - 5:00pm, and if you get caught outside those hours without a realistic and valid excuse you will most likely get in the same amount as trouble as you would driving without an exemption.

Why would he have a chance? to He's purposely purchased the car in an attempt to get an exemption to drive it.

Um, how about go fuck yourself and your stupid ass want of skipping around the rules that are there for a good reason.

Go fucking buy a P plate compliant car like the rest of the P platers who have half a brain.

What makes you so fucking special that you need a turbo car? Nothing, so to quote Truffles, fuck off.

His replies are perfectly valid. If anyone is a "delinquent" here it's you! Fucking just follow the rules they are there for a reason. Or buy a fucking track car like i did. Yes i am a P Plater and P plater's like you fucking shit me to tears. No wonder we have such a bad reputation because of wankers like you.

This is the point everyone has been trying to get accross. P platers can't drive turbo charged cars. It's a law that has been in place for nearly 4 years now. There is no way to swindle your way around it. Well, not for your purposes anyway.

Because it has worked for a friend of mine. They don't know he purchased the car JUST to drive it and be different on his P's. What if his uncle gave it to him or some shit? Or the process of trading the car for something but not exactly money?
I'm not on anyones side but things like these do happen.

Haha, you're a toss. You can still get a nice car that's not a turbo/high performance. Hence my T-top 300ZX.

They'll find out. DOT will thoroughly look through an application like this to make sure it's legit. The reason they will knock it back is because he doesn't need a turbo charged car, he just wants a turbo charged car (my guess is to hoon - which is what these P plate laws are trying to prevent).

Some people just can't get it in their thick heads. Should back trace the fool and link the DOT to this thread. Even though they will decline his application anyway.
If you really want a turbo car seriously just get a track car. That's what i did. I have my Supra for a Daily and C33 Laurel for a track car. Its not like you need the extra power on the street if you can't really use it when following the road rules anyway.

I would assume they would look thoroughly through applications as well. But I'm just saying that it HAS happened to a mate of mine. And his circumstances are quite similar to old mates who started the thread. If he is being legit about it which I doubt.

It looks to me like this guy just bought the car to use it as an excuse to get an exemption, you don't have to be a rocket scientist to see that. I'm assuming your friend had a pretty good reason for an exemption (like financial hardship or something like that).

Why does anyone bother replying to arrogant P plate teenybopper cocksuckers? They all do the same thing, ask a question here, get told the answer/ fuck off, then start contesting the answers they're given coz the fuckbags cant handle the truth and have tantrums.

At the end of the day, every teen is a dumb fuck thinking they know everything and only ask to justify the reasons, hoping that other fagets will side with them.

Let them drive their turbo's and kill themselves, let natural selection cull the @#$!s, just make sure you're paying attention to your surroundings 100% of the time to be ready for when these fucks might take you out, and take appropriate/ evasive action.

The majority of the time when a hoon crashes, they kill someone else rather than themselves. We can't stop P platers from hooning, but at least by limiting the amount of power they can have, we can limit how hard they hit something when they eventually do crash. Then and only then may we be able to save an innocent bystander's life.

You're not goint to get an exemption, we've been through that. But if you want to drive your turbo charged skyline then go a head. Maybe you'll get through your entire 3 years without being pulled up (I highly doubt it, skylines attract cops like a donut king). Just be prepared to go to court, lose your license and your car if you get pulled up.

If you or OP driving a turbo car illegally hit someone and damage their car....chances are they will get out, remove the turbo from your car and proceed to beat you over the head with it. Stop trying to get around it, I want to drive a turbo but I can't, VL5spd drives a N/A Supra, I drive a N/A R34 - Go buy one of the above, you can still have fun without your fully sick BOV.
