No, point of interest to my friend who actually has an exemption for his WRX.

Probably around $600

Depends on the year model. 2001 onwards, around $400 for a complete retune of the stock ECU for around 180Kw@wheels. Pre 2000(original shape) and your looking at around $1000

Factory WRX boost control solenoid is good for 22psi wink.gif

Cost me 1100 to have a turbo fitted, filters and oil changed plus dyno tune. Though I already had a haltech ecu and tune. Which cost 1700 at the time.

Allow for around 1k.

Depends on your model year and ecu.. If it's a post gc8 model then alot of places can reflash your stock ecu.. Though if you have an older model it usually means having to pay for a new ecu/piggyback. Ecutek/mrt can reflash older models but it costs the same if not more going through them.

Older models should have a non Ecutek tuning solution in the VERY near future... fitment of a 01 WRX ECU via a patch loom with the ability to remove the GC8 AFM and fit an RB25 or Z32 AFM

no they aint the 2 ports are not much good after 17 psi. mine died giving me an infinite amount of boost.
plus they spike aswell..

much better off going something like a grimspeed 3 port solenoid the difference is huge.

but yeah for stock ecu reflash $600-1200 01+

pre 00 will need something like power fc, ecktek, etc, as you cannot flash their ecu's.

Admittedly, the Grimspeed(General Motors BC Ecotec solenoid) is a good option but the 2 port can be adequately controlled... if you know what your doing with the tune and setting realistic mapping targets smile.gif An upgraded wastegate actuator also works well smile.gif

I am doing some development work with rexnet support on a pre 00 tuning solution using an 01/02 ECU with a patch loom to suit for under $1200 supplied, installed and stage 1 base tuned smile.gif

that would be handy for gc8 owners, being able to diy tune with tactrix

whats your user on rexnet?

Exactly smile.gif

The development thread is in the ECU Tech section over there smile.gif
