hey all just looking at rim choices and am not sure on what will fit have been told 9.5 will fit on rear will 10.5 fit with no gaurd rolling,car is very low

9.5" is a REALLY tight squeeze, 10.5 have no chance in hell of surviving the first corner. |

not 100% sure about a vz man,but have got 10s on the back of a vx clubsport and doesnt scrub at all,just had to trim the rear bar inner lip |

Go over to the www.ls1.com.au forum. The VX has a slightly wider rear wheel arch due to the 'curves' in the rear of the car. |

Also, since a lowered commodore actually shifts the rear wheels further forward and up(ie closer to the rear doors) due to the swing arm design, you will find lowered cars need the guards rolled around the rear door and at top of wheel arch to clear properly. Keep in mind, that the major factor will also be the tyres. 9.5" with a 265/30R19 is the bare limit for squeezing rubber into the guard have been told by tyre shop and read some info that the 9.5s wont fit on a sedan but will fit a ute is this true,im keen to put 9.5s on but dont wanto buy wheels and be very disapointed if they dont fit does any1 have any personal expirence |

On my VX Clubsport the front guards are rolled all the way around the lip as are the rears, including near the door section. i have also trimmed the inner plastics front and rear, the rears have had sections cut out to avoid the annoying scrub noise when loaded with passengers. I have never suffered any tyre damage because of it and my car is low too. My previous rims were 19x8.5" front and 19x10" rear with a 265/30/19 tyre, I have since changed them again for 20's and have 9.5" rims on the back with a 255/30/20 tyre and have plenty of clearance. I will take some pics and PM them to you.. |

I know my car and whats on it and believe me I had to do some searching to get the right offset and it also limited my wheel choices greatly but in the end there under there. My guards apart from being rolled till the lip has gone, have been flared slightly in the rear which gives it an even fatter look. I bought wheels from a company in Houston Texas to obtain the offset I required and before anyone asks NO I will not tell you lol, do your own homework. My apologies, it was not aimed at you(I can also seem to be a bit arrogant, so again I apologise) but I remembered the OP's Members Ride thread: https://www.boostcruising.com/forums/index....=725684&hl= and his car was the Clubsport I was refering to. I know the VX actually has wider rear wheel arches(same as the VU/VY/VZ utes) BUT the VY/VZ Sedan has shallower rear wheel arches and I also know that fitting VS swing arms is the easy way around getting 10's to fit easily(with the advantage being you can get a shitload of dish) 9.5's on a VY/VZ sedan is the absolute limit, 10's on a VT/VX or above mentioned ute is fine(I had 19x10's on my VY ute without hassles using 245/35R19 rubber) it is a hsv so i dont really wanto go flaring my gaurds,would rolling the cars gaurd make the car loose value because loosing originality,and as for not giving out offset details why not. Rolling the guards will be fine, HSV Clubsports are not worth as much as they used to be and with the mods your car has, it is not exactly in showroom condition Rolling is not like flaring the guards, it is more like massaging the metal to give more clearance. Especially around the rear door where the door becomes part of the wheel arch, the inner section is pumped out for more clearance when the car squats as it comes on boost |
