dyno went okay apart from both sets of tires that we tried wanted to turn to smoke, ended up making 530rwhp on 28psi but all runs were with a fair amount of wheelspin as you can see in this video, we made 530rwhp last time on 23psi so we are now on 28psi and have put more fule in and its using the fuel so is making more power. will have to see what mph it runs at the track. either way im happy that its on 28psi and seems to be loving it and didnt blow up |

sleepy well done mate. great outcome, .3 of a second and you're there. i hope to beat you to that mile stone what power were you making to get this? was it on toluene mix? 30psi on pump e85, we wernt really sure on power as dyno kept wheelspinning but we made 530rwhp last time and ran 128mph, ran 134mph this time so it would have to be around 580rwhp-620rwhp to push a full weight cressida to 134mph. tried launching 16psi off the foot brake on first run and picked the front wheel up for about half a second then just turned the tires hard. the run i ran 10.220 i only left on 8 psi still ran a 1.586 60 foot. with some wider tires and stiffer rear springs and a 16psi launch its got a 1.49 60 foot and 9.99 in it no dramas might even go another 5psi of boost if the turbo has some more left in it. lets just say there is plenty more to come. the best part is that its driven from toowoomba to the track let the tires down and race, and drive home. and the fact that its still 100% street car the wife drove it to work 3 times last week cause she loves the smell of the e85 lol she even gave it a 30psi hit the other day i think she is addicted to boost. |

just these 2 runs. if i get the energy may start doing my cage and harness so i can get some more runs in, makes it harder when you only get one run before you get booted. when are you heading down next? i presume you will be using sticky tires next time, also what power did you make to run the 128mph? |

Sic of cn f@#kin holdens, fords and rotors!!!!!! as far as i know there were only my white cressida and a mates blue cressida there. there were a couple of shots if you go through daves photos on his site. i think we supprised a few of the other cars there, his makes 500rwhp and mine makes around 600rwhp so was fun. i got through to the top 8 in off street drags and was easily in the top 5 powerskids, might try and have some more power for the next one |

Does anyone know which steel rims to use for Mt street radials. I have a set of Ba/Au steel rims which are 16" 6.5" wide, so might be a bit too skinny. I have been quoted to have them widened would be 176 per rim. Is there a cheaper option? or just have to find some either 16x8" or 15x8 rims. What are other people doing? i ran 235/60 street radials on a 15x6 inch au series one rim and that is what i ran 10.5 with i have only just gone to a 7 inch rim when i ran 10.2, if im going to go for more power i will probably go to some 8 inch rims for the back. im using late camry/corolla steel wheels now which are 15 inch 5 stud and you can order wider bands through "Race Engineering" (google it and you will find there number) for around 60 each and will cost you around 60 each for someone to cut your old centres out and weld the new ones in. |

Thanks for the info. Race engineering wanted 225 per rim, to go from 6.5 to an 8" wide on the 16" rims. Then had spoken to Depulu wheels on the gold coast and they wanted 176 per rim. Probably wouldnt be too bad buying the bands for 60, but then who would cut and fit them for a good price. I'll see how I go. |
