So............

It's my birthday this Saturday coming and what better way to spend it than shouting myself a new old school daily?

If all goes to plan (fingers crossed) I will have a new daily this Friday/Saturday, something old school, damn near completely stock and in amazing condition, especially for the price I am paying for it...............

No no no lol.

Just whether it was mine or not you were referring to or someone elses.

Mine's a GTS/4, Barbados Green, 9" etc currently doing BBC conversion on it, although looks like I've just sold the shell, so will now put the BBC up for sale as well.

Sooo i picked up a bunch of HQ door trim and sill stainless trims for my HJ from the wreckers the other day, went from 10$ a trim to $5 a trim because of my mad negotiating skills. I also got two wheel arch stainless mouldings for free because they appeared bent when off the car.

Also today, from the same wreckers, i negotiated a $20 fairly good condition sun visor to the lovely price of $0. Win!

THEN.

I won a HJ-HZ sedan rust free rear quarter on ebay for a whopping ONE DOLLAR, a full set of HQ stainless for the doors and sills for $46 (which i think is pretty good) and also two steelies for under $5 from the same bloke with the quarter.

Now onto the important stuff.. i'm going to be doing Jays (74QEE) rust repairs in a few weeks when hes back from work again, and because of this he shouted me 2l of 2pac gloss white to do my roof and sunvisor white. I'm going to paint some steelies black, throw the tires on em from my gts wheels and paint white walls on and run hubcaps, do the roof white and the visor white, install the visor and will be cruising a little different for a while.

I'm also thinking of painting the body "Seafoam Green" for the nostalgia of it. Was considering the new VW Tiguan or Toureg i can't remember which, dark blue which is very nice but i think the green might be a lot cooler. Thoughts?

Damn! I've been searching kingswood parts and never saw any of those.. What are you typing in the search? I must be doing it wrong.

Edit: gotten better now smile.gif

I didn't win the wheels, someone bidded over $25 for the two, i was only prepared to pay $25 for two as anymore than that is a bit rich for what they are, and considering i don't particulaly need them that badly although i will need one more when my EK is near on the road.

I think i maybe just got lucky again, although maybe they aren't worth much yet? But i sold two FB EK rust free quarters for $250 EACH a few months ago. I found this by searching HQ Kingswood as was looking for the door stainless trims, although its not a HQ quarter its HJ onwards.

So my drive today to Toowoomba to pick up the new daily was a complete and utter waste of my fucking time.

No Rust = 5 rust holes in the floors, boot spare well floor about to rust out, and body rust around the car.

Paint in "good condition" = one guard sanded and plaint cracking under the clear.

So off to look at another "rust free" vehicle tomorrow.............

Know the feeling , you get some dipshit on the phone saying its in mint condition with no rust and you turn up at his place to find some rusted out piece of shit thats had more bangs than the back door . Had this happen recently when looking at a one owner HZ , as fate had it I said no thanks mate and on the way home found a HX wagon about 2 km down the road in VGC with no rust to be found .

haha, yeah, I'm pretty happy with it... besides the part where I actually have to do the work anyway. unsure.gif

and that's why I'm still unsure on the procharger - weighing up options whether its worth buying one to put on this engine (freshly rebuilt) or just get a crate motor with decent power considering it's already turning into a kind of frankenstein car

Hopefully will be ordering this stuff in June/July and then taking a month or so holidays to put it all on, hopefully won't be too much longer after that and it'll be on the road (providing things run smoothly anyway).

Very interested to come check out those streets around you again with the new parts. oopsie.gif

Also need to pick up some new wheels to fit over the brakes, haven't really had a good look around but can get decent deals of forgeline wheels - they have some pretty nice looking stuff.

Those cars are PORN!

Selling or buying a car is a pain in the arse. Hate people trying to rip me off or finding out bad things after purchase.

Also hate timewaster buyers.. Not showing up, stringing me along with emails then vanishing..

As a free plug.. My HZ is on ebay here http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Holden-Kingswoo...=item3367d5aba1

And unlike other sellers, I'm no bullshit on the car's condition. This also applies to my Camaro for sale. No rust means no rust! Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
