thanks for the info, Just had a look at my step dads wb tonner and he can fit 6x9s behind the seats. So ill be putting 6" in the kickpanels and 6x9s behind the seats. Would the 6x9s need individual boxes or will they be fine just sitting there?

They would need individual boxes.
Buy a pair of small 6x9 box.
Take EVERYTHING out of the car, seats, carpet, underlay etc.
Get some plastic sheeting and loosly cover the area where the box will fit behind each seat. (Also make sure the bare metal is clean)
Get some fibre glass and some resin. Glass the area up. 3 thick sheets with a decent resin will be fine. (Will pull out when cured and plastic will peel off)
Cut box to sit snuggly against fibre glass.
Epoxy glue box to fibre glass. Re carpet rear wall but not the floor. Glue boxes into place, or screw/bolt. fold carpet over the box. Cut a hole out where the speak goes, screw the speaker into the box and it will hold the carpet in place.

Also, I run a 6x9 in each of my kick panels. Works fine, doesn't hit on the pedals, and is loud enough off the headunit. I'd recommend using dynamat behind the kick panels.

QUESTION: You want a custom interior yet you don't want any speakers to be seen. My head is full of fuck. Also, I don't know how tall you are, but don't put the amp (if you want to run one) behind the drivers seat as it will put he seat that much more forward. (I have my seat as far back as possible).

Im about 6 "2.
im getting some vinyl racing buckets to replace the premier seats as they will give me the leg room i need and they will be the same colour my interior will be trimmed in (black). It depends on the price the custom interior will cost, if its too much i will just go stock. The cards will be clean with only the window winders and door handle visible. The hardest thing is replacing the dash pad, i have looked around and to get a new replacement im looking at about $500 so i think ill just have to find a decent second hand one and paint it if necessary. My old mans driving the hj around as he has sold his car so it will most likely be slow project.

Thanks for the advice

6" in the kicks will give you no staging unless you run components (separate tweeter) 6x9's behind seats sound shit and muffled no matter which way you install them but easiest way is to use the holes at the bottom of the rear firewall in kingswood utes. Mount an mdf board along the bottom of the holes to cover them up (10-12mm mdf) and mount the 6x9's in there.

P.S unless he is 3ft . 5" you will not fit a slimline sub behind the seats thumbsup.gif

Debatable, I have a 10" slimline that I was going to mount behind the drivers seat. However, would sound super shit as the box would have very little air space.

woah that's different, i have to admit it would be pretty sick with the subs in that location. It would be really loud especially in a ute. I don't like seeing the monoblock/amp but you allways put it on the outside of the rear firewall
