Could always paint it again when you do the engine swap? Great fun, huh? Saving for F1 in a couple of weeks so can't go out and my only light over the car busted just before so I can't even work on it. :headwall: I was going to paint it Lambo Orange nothing else decision made.... But seeing these photo's again has made me start questioning that. Great fun. :headwall: Will be worth it when i'm up there though. Only one word in my mind "Backpackers" You need to come see me re the front and also have a look at Asias Sunbird. Yeah definetly, Nicks car is sooo close to being driveable! Just a little more fiddling and she'll be sweet. Then first stop, Bens house. Plus I wanna drool all over your shed. I've seen that little teaser with the Duke in it and have heard many good things about it....hotrod mural....? |

Guys i have some good news, my Kingswood is driving now =D I've had it for 3 spins around the block and everything is good. My old man spent most of yesterday swapping over the oil pump from another engine i had lying around, and after that its all good. Only drama now is that the bloody speedo isn't working. Speedo cable is in the gearbox correctly so must be the dash end Other than that, the knocking noise i was hearing from the top end (Nathan the one i've told you about) has gone after a lap around the block. Very fucking stoked right now! Time for cruising.. for now. Next step is to cut all the rust out. Also thinking of painting the roof white for now and putting my sunvisor on for shits and giggles. WTF !!! HQ's look way better in a solid colour and don't grandpa it unless you want to receive bottles of viagra for your birthday |

Muscle car look FTW. 15 x 5 convo's/ weld stars up front and the same in x 12 up back. Lowered 1" up front and like 4" up back. Note: Has to have a tough note to cruise to if doing this. ^^ isn't that illegal, i thought the front tyres can only be a maximum of 2 inches smaller than the rear?.....cant remember if its the width of the wheel or diameter |

Blah blah blah. I know you like different style of cars Nathan Speaking of tough note, i need to fix my exhaust cause it rattles like a motherfucker haha. When the car gets painted i'll rip it all out and build a new exhaust. |

Knox has some of the best if not the best quality carpet in Australia, that's where I bought mine for the Monaro recently and worth every cent imo. +1! Got Knoz carpets in the xc and for the price you cant beat it! Also on the note of paint colours, ive changed my mind on the colour for the xc, gunmetal has lost its appeal to me now. Im thinking this now- http://ucapusa.com/images/car_info/ford_falcon_xw_gt_6.jpg Shit pic but you get the idea.. Just after thoughts, I've never wanted a blue car but there is something about that colour that i love, plus goes really well with the black and chrome so should work well on the xc.. |

But who cares Don't forget that we drive old school and we do get some leniency towards our cars, imports on the other hand get raped lol. Also those rims are 3" to big in diameter. IMO. |

Don't get the appeal of using front runners on the street, if it rains you're fucked ! |

Couldn't say it'd suit your.cars.shape ( not boxy enough) but would look alright. Just paint it black like the one on the first page of that thread of which is better. Though yours is not a coupe MHmm its so hard to pick a colour! By far the biggest decision of building a car! Ive changed my mind so many times; Green, orange, Black, gunmetal now blue! Mhmm i guess i still have a while til i need to decide. |

Don't forget that we drive old school and we do get some leniency towards our cars, imports on the other hand get raped lol. Very bad frame of mind to be in. It's that type of thinking that starts drawing attention to old school cars and we start getting cracked down harder. 4WDer's saw it when the P plate laws came in, all of a sudden P platers couldn't have fast cars so they bought 4wd's and stuck the biggest lifts and tyres on them, exxo cages etc then ran them on the street. Next thing there is a huge focus on 4WD's and they start getting ass raped left right and centre for ridiculous things. Same thing that happened with the ute scene, too many flat capping wannabe American idiots slamming the shit out of their ute, notching chassis's etc etc, all of a sudden you can't run aftermarket wheels on a ute anymore without it being a pain in the ass because the minority ruined it for the majority........... What happens when the older Police members pass on, and newer members come into the force? They never grew up with these vehicles, they have no memories as such associated with them, all the say is someone running front runners and a huge rear footprint. Time and a place, sadly for the most part, Australia is fast becoming NOT the place for it........... |

Did a photoshoot a while back with an XB coupe that was a similar colour to that (Ben, you know the car...it's Leon's car from the Old Skool Muscle Car Club). That car looks awesome, if that's any help in your decision. I'll try and remember to post up a couple of the shots when I get home tonight. |

Whats your budget, if its high i would go some insane 5000 layered pearl paint with all the colours in it but it you budgets on the lower side i would definitely go a Deep black, gunmetal grey or a Cherry Black (Black with purple) Its not so much the budget that will hold me back its more the skill set. ( Im trying to do everything myself) So a pearl or deep black would be hard to get it to look good. I have the gunmetal paint here already, but ive since lost interest in doing it that colour. Will use the gunmetal on the keto if i do go through with changing the colour, As for cherry black, thats the colour my sister wants the datto once i get these other cars out of the way. Yeah if you could get a photo or two of it that would be awesome! Ive done a few photoshops to try to get it that colour, but again limited skills and lack of decent photos of the car when it was a whole colour makes it hard. |

Jeebus for the price paid you would expect a bit better......... Least it will be mickey mouse once done. Had to rebuild the auto, replaced sump gasket, modified sump, made up a bash plate, done a really good job on modifying 3 pipes on the LHS extractor to clear the steering, full service, diff pinion seal, clearanced exhaust on LHS shock, replaced plugs.. Most of the stuff they done was a pain in the ass, good mates with the mech that done it. No room at all in my engine bay lol. And pulled the auto to fix a few oil leaks in the back of the block. |
