I hear Bugatti did that a little while ago. Considering the years of development and research put into every single aspect of the car, and the fact they are selling them for 1 million euros and they still make a loss, I'm sure you will have plenty of luck doing it yourself... just sayin

G'day mate,

Talk to Scotty @ Cleveland exhaust. He built and owns OKE-020. Lil' Corolla with 2JZGTE engine.

Weblink and look under current specs:

Cheers.

Look at something with capacity and aftermarket support.

Something like a BA MKII XR6 Turbo with forged internals and a GT47 will get you into the vicinity.

Tis $$$$$$ though

there are plenty of supra's around with 2jz reaching 1000hp, and you can find build specs/info from google i believe

There are a few motors around that make over 1000hp, but none of them will do it cheaply - and all of them will need boost. Have a search around some to the car club build threads and see what goes into these things, and then work out if you REALLY want a 1000hp street car. There is a LOT of compromise.

A short list would include: Skylines (RB26DETT), Supra (with a JZ), Falcon Turbo + Masses (6 figures?) of money.

Except that is NOWHERE near a street car. For a useable (lol) 1000hp start with a modern large displacement engine - RB26/30, 2JZ, LSx, 1UZFE, etc and throw as much boost at it as you can afford. For a reliable 1000hp I wouldn't be expecting much change out of $20k.

how about buy one already built...

unless you wanna spends 10's of thousands of dollars and get nothing back...

look at the real costs involved,

engine, turbo (s), driveline, chassis work, suspension work, brake upgrades, gauges / ECU's / Tuning, fuel system etc etc...

to get a reliable street driven 1000hp is nearly impossible... maybe aim for 500 and see if you are willing to spend more after that...

Late model Commodore LS98 6L V8 + twin turbo kit = 1000hp easily on around 12psi boost or so. Daily driver + drag monster in one package.

With a response like that, how the fuck are you a Tech member. You're an idiot.

This.

If it were me, it'd be a stroked 2JZ Supra, with a huge turbo, running E98. Or, Id build an LSX with a couple of large turbo's in a GTO. Either of these motors are easily able to reach 1000HP. But, dont think it'll be cheap. If you're having to ask what motor and what not, you're not going to build it, nevermind have the cash to do it.

These vague "please give me your opinion" type threads dont really belong in tech section.

You can get 1000hp from a 2L engine that you could drive on the street but it wont be very 'streetable' in any objective sense.

For a a larger capacity engine like a ls or xr6t you could maybe throw 50K at a streetcar and still only have a dyno queen style car that makes 1000hp with the boost turned up and still isnt streetable or particularly well suited to use that power at drags etc

SRT8 300c with a couple of turbos, ECU and exhaust? Must be able to get close.

My old supra was just on the 1250 mark street driven. It was a bit of a birch though as it had a 2 way diff and also a 6 speed manual dog box in it sa well.

When it was all done with suspension brakes driveline etc I am pretty sure I ended up spending close to 65k and then there was interior paint wheels etc came to probably just under 100k

Good luck if you do go a head with it.

Bahahaha. Good bloody luck with that. There won't be much standard in that engine if you are planning 1000HP. Easily... what a joke.

You are obviously a dreamer if you're just aiming for '1000hp'. Simple fact is 500hp in a well setup light car will be quicker than 1000hp in a heavy dyno queen.

Pretty sure to get to 1000hp out of a 2J supra will cost you around 50k. Don't aim so high unless there's a really good reason you need that. Go for about 600hp and you'll be really happy in any 6 cylinder. Or alternatively aim for 400hp in a 4 cylinder.

Obviously too stupid to check out the numerous people on the LS1 forum approaching 1000Hp on standard internals... The ASE TT1000 kit and LS1Turbo T1000 kits have 1000 in their part numbers for a reason. If you cant reach 1000Hp@crank in a 5.7L or 6L on a stock bottom end, a set of forgies with rods is not exactly going to break the bank.

Thanks for proving that it is in fact YOU that is a joke

not true always and i have an rb30 in my r32 and it makes 943kws on 26psi all day every day engine build around $30,000
then gearbox and diff all up close to 45 46k not to bad considering.

Like to get a dyno readout on that one? I daresay it would be a HUGE dyno queen even if your claims are true (which I am doubting).

I reckon he would be about right. I built my RB30DET for ~1200hp @ crank (only looking for 600rwhp) and was a bit less then that. Rods are my limiting factor and possibly headflow but old mate turtle is probably on the mark. GT47 would probably do it on E85.
