I hear Bugatti did that a little while ago. Considering the years of development and research put into every single aspect of the car, and the fact they are selling them for 1 million euros and they still make a loss, I'm sure you will have plenty of luck doing it yourself... just sayin |

there are plenty of supra's around with 2jz reaching 1000hp, and you can find build specs/info from google i believe |

There are a few motors around that make over 1000hp, but none of them will do it cheaply - and all of them will need boost. Have a search around some to the car club build threads and see what goes into these things, and then work out if you REALLY want a 1000hp street car. There is a LOT of compromise. |

Except that is NOWHERE near a street car. For a useable (lol) 1000hp start with a modern large displacement engine - RB26/30, 2JZ, LSx, 1UZFE, etc and throw as much boost at it as you can afford. For a reliable 1000hp I wouldn't be expecting much change out of $20k. |

Late model Commodore LS98 6L V8 + twin turbo kit = 1000hp easily on around 12psi boost or so. Daily driver + drag monster in one package. |

You're an idiot. Late model Commodore LS98 6L V8 + twin turbo kit = 1000hp easily on around 12psi boost or so. Daily driver + drag monster in one package. This. If it were me, it'd be a stroked 2JZ Supra, with a huge turbo, running E98. Or, Id build an LSX with a couple of large turbo's in a GTO. Either of these motors are easily able to reach 1000HP. But, dont think it'll be cheap. If you're having to ask what motor and what not, you're not going to build it, nevermind have the cash to do it. |

These vague "please give me your opinion" type threads dont really belong in tech section. |

My old supra was just on the 1250 mark street driven. It was a bit of a birch though as it had a 2 way diff and also a 6 speed manual dog box in it sa well. |

Obviously too stupid to check out the numerous people on the LS1 forum approaching 1000Hp on standard internals... The ASE TT1000 kit and LS1Turbo T1000 kits have 1000 in their part numbers for a reason. If you cant reach 1000Hp@crank in a 5.7L or 6L on a stock bottom end, a set of forgies with rods is not exactly going to break the bank. Thanks for proving that it is in fact YOU that is a joke ![]() |

You are obviously a dreamer if you're just aiming for '1000hp'. Simple fact is 500hp in a well setup light car will be quicker than 1000hp in a heavy dyno queen. not true always and i have an rb30 in my r32 and it makes 943kws on 26psi all day every day engine build around $30,000 then gearbox and diff all up close to 45 46k not to bad considering. |

Like to get a dyno readout on that one? I daresay it would be a HUGE dyno queen even if your claims are true (which I am doubting). |

I built my RB30DET for ~1200hp @ crank (only looking for 600rwhp) and was a bit less then that. Rods are my limiting factor and possibly headflow but old mate turtle is probably on the mark. GT47 would probably do it on E85. |
