590 at the treads on 14psi.. But only done 300 miles.

Looking at a 67 Nova today in town, 432 small block, very very very tidy car. I'll try get some pics :oopsie:

The one in the states has a fuel cell and rear suspension all cut up, and with the dash the way it is i might run into issues trying to import it.. Dunno.

My camaro came over with a fuel cell in it, didn't have any issues importing and the compliance dude had a look over it and said I shouldn't have any issues (when I finally get around to it).

Unsure about the other two though.

Apparently as long as it looks stockish from the side you'll be fine. But thats just customs, when you come to L02 it might be a different story. Any cut up chassis is a big no no..

This one in town is sounding better anyway.. Has a rack in the front, new interior, all the guages, moser axles, big rear end, pro touring style. And its a 67 :oopsie:

Big difference between compliance and rwc too.

Yeh, can't exactly get a dodgy L02 as easy as you can a phoneworthy...

-Jordan-
Post #777

Yeah, this is definitely the L02 compliance guy, not for a rwc. But that was only for the fuel cell which is set up properly and externally, wasnt in reference to chassis / dash being cut up. Nice guy who is giving me a very reasonable price.

wb - How much longer have you got left mate?

So if anyone knows of someone (most likely a P-Plater or someone after cheap rego) after a worked 250 crossflow XB sedan, let me know. Details of it are here: https://www.boostcruising.com/forums/index....howtopic=603621

Engine was rebuilt a few months ago, gearbox has to be warmed up til it decides to go into 3rd (once it does, it's fine from there on), couple of little rust spots under the paint etc etc.
Might look at fixing the gearbox sometime.

Was originally planning on keeping it as a daily, however, after thinking about it properly for a while, I'd probably be better off with something else that can also double as a tow car.

Not advertising it anywhere at the moment as I'm not in a rush, just if you know of anyone. Still deciding, might end up keeping it and changing it around.

Just a smidge over a year left on my P's. Will ask a workmate of mine who is in the market for an oldschooler when I see him in march.

QUOTE (HSV @ Feb 8 2011, 06:37 AM) *
Good luck getting it regoed ;)

Mines a 468 with a dickload of work done to it atm.

Not a massive fan of the tonners and to be honest I want something that I can take the whole family in, might even look at a cruise car, a custom of some description, and build another Q on the side.

Rego is the easy bit ^_^ Not being raped by the police is the hard part :P

So I rummaged through the docs the vendor gave me with the Torana and I actually foun some literature for the engine ... From 1990 lol. Seems it was a long block stage 1 sports engine from Betta bolt in NSW supposedly has stage III head XU1 cam and alloy gear . Anyone know anything about this mob ?

Kinda a random question, but where can i dispose of two engines?
I cant imagine the dump allowing me to dump them there?
Just cleaned out the shed and the garage and need to get rid of them haha

Oh sweet, i didn't think theyd allow me to dump them there, but i guess as long as all the oils out its no different to any other metal object.
Cheers

So where are these 'non shit' pics? I wanna see it properly :squint:

Taken it on a drive yet?

Also, is the rack and pinion conversion by "steeroids" by any chance? Ordering a set, keen to know what they're like.

Anchor
Post #797

Haha, its been raining up here since i got it :)

Gotta get some time off work so i can throw it on a hoist and have a look.

The rack and pinion is fuckin hard to steer, need to have a look, something might not be right...

Have driven it a little, its awesome having power straight away. Squeeze the throttle at about 80 and it starts to smoke em good. Found a few more goodies, twin holley red pumps and a 12 bolt diff with moser axles.

Fitting a mechanical water pump this week and welding up the crack in the sump. I'll 'try' get some photos soon

The best part so far would be people telling me its missing on a cylinder, first of all i shat myself and got out the heat gun to check each pipe... But of course it wasn't.. Just doesn't get over the cam till around 3500rpm

Haha, about the same size as the cam I have in my 6 :) Doesn't make power till 3500/750 but will make it to 8500+ according to the manufacturer. I just don't have the balls to rev it like that with only a balanced stock bottom end. :noes:

Be prepared for mega bullshit fuel bill.

Oh it's terrible. Drove about 30km the other night, went through 1/4 of a tank of 98 with booster. Might go get a cold start vid now for ya'll.. Just a teaser :)

Sounding very nice though!

Now I'm off to find a video camera that doesn't disort when I turn my car on... haha

And to edit the above, 99% sure its a solid top end.. Sounds very mechanical and gets louder as it revs up, not quieter.
