haha, that might have been half the problem, get some rubber washers and see if it makes any difference.

Have you called the bloke that sold it? Surely he would have known an oil leak like that was going to make a 2000km trip a bit interesting!

He said he had them changed them over from a chrome looking set that was previously on the block

Anyone know how much a set of four original restored GTS wheels with GTS caps and wheel nuts is worth?

I've looked on ebay, few sets of rims alone is asking $750, i have caps, nuts and tires with them.

I'm also looking for 3 more hq - hz steelies.

Go a set of Hotwires , Westerns , Spitfires , Dragways mate at least you will get a reasonable amount of rubber on these so you can fill those guards .

couple of rings were fucked, but the bore was smooth in all cylinders, no visible cracks etc, just dirty as fuck.. taking the heads down to vigor engineering on thursday,
the "sump" that was on it has had more hits than elvis but thats easily replaceable
thinking about taking the crank off today

got confirmation today, the engine is an Aussie fitted 307. From an Elizabeth (Adelaide) assembled vehicle, late HK/early HT. L157 is 15/11/67. Motor was assembled on 20/11/67. Block casting is 3914636. Both it and the heads are right for HK and HT 307.

Any idea on the progress of Ash selling the Monaro / buying a Camaro?

Was curious on how it was going but it doesn't look like he's coming back on here.

Things have taken a turn...............

Might be selling the Monaro, may be up on EvilBay by the end of the week as rolling shell or trying to decide if it's worth my while sticking another 308 in there for the sale.

Yes/No.

Will be dependent on what happens.

Will be sold cheap as it sits, or with another 308.

Lol fair enough, found 2 nice 69's in aus for under 35k.. One is pro street style with a built 468 and the other is a very mild 350 on its guts with big wheels etc... Hmm

Could buy the 468 one and drop it on wheels..

Wheels essentially are fuck all in the scheme of things man.

I'd lean towards the more overall modified package, ie drivetrain etc before looking at something that just had a nice set of wheels on it.

But that's me also.

I'd be taking the genuine SS personally based on re-sale, but the other one does sound quite nice, however I'm betting closer to 40 as well.

I just had foxtel installed to watch this show (then realised it's started on free to air the day after, sigh) - some of the cars / prices make me want to cry... so cheap! Would love to go over with some extra cash after I'm done with the camaro.
