I would consider it in my 12ft with 15hp on the back leaving from Amity on a perfect day but ffs a punt and i take it you leaving from manly???? Are you aware of the go slow zones out there? $400 on the spot fine and they pick you up on radar before you even see the mother ship. Please do not do it, dont need to see another tool on the news getting saved or possibly worse, pulling your bodies out of moreton bay - cold. |

fuck there are some morons here, I don't think even the most stupidest person in Brisbane would take there 5hp tinnie to moreton. You can have a 6hp engine unregistered. There is next to no one policing it over there anyway. Maybe the odd occasion but just don't get on the piss as you can still get done for DD on it. Happy camping ! |

Also something else to consider you need a V sheet and flares as its classed as partially smooth waters to get to moreton another ~$200 fine without them |

Awesome, so i should be right taking the 5hp But i swear i thought if it was over 4hp it needs rego and its over 6hp you need a licence .. nah bud, the kid across the road got a little 12ft quintrex bought for him with a 6hp merc cos he was too young for a licence. most the hire boats you get are 6hp also, get a 15hp and put a 6hp sticker on it |

Hire boats at 6hp because thats the max you can use without a licence. They are registered... |

yeah over 4hp has to be registered. over 6 you have to have a licence. The end. Pretty much this. The power restrictions in regards to licensing and registration are actually measured in kilowatts as opposed to horsepower, the exact figures (to 2 decimal places) are 4.08hp (3kw) for registration purposes and 6.12hp (4.5kw) for licensing purposes (recreational vessels only). |
