Throttle response would go to absolute shit with a fake cooler with a pod filter. You want a short intake with a CAI.

That's what you want.
Fat pipe+pod.

The pod is WAY down under the grille.

They got the idea from Roger Cordia, something to do with Rogers "Air Cooler than AIR" theory. :)

They work by the expansion of air inside the cooler.

So it goes in hot and under pressure > goes through the cooler and expands (and cools down because it expands) > and then into the cold side of the intercooler leading to the intake.

is this true??? here i am thinking its the air cooling off the intercooler fins which cools off the air passing through it,
lol intercooling a na car, cooling of air using the same air :)

Also an intercooler have a max efficiency sort of thing, they cannot cool less than 10deg above the air flowing over it.

eg ambient air is 10degC the air in it will never get below 20degC

Mine feels freaken cold after a drive home down the freeway, so also have to factor wind chill into that as well. mine cools that well my cooler pipes in the engine bay are cool to touch and the intake manifold is also not boiling hot like it used to be!

hahahahah

the good old interfooler, when really there not fooling anyone we all no it does fuck all, lol
love seeing p platers with an intercooler doing nothing esspecially when the payed a fortune for
it and actually made the car slower.

nice :)

it works as a heat exchanger. that is all. its quite simple really in theory but obviously there is a lot to make them highly efficient.

The commo L plate driver (i forget ur username didnt quote u) says that it works by lowering the pressure and that makes the air cooler, but what happens when it leaves the intercooler into the piping again ? pressurizes the air? Also wouldn't the depressurization defeat the purpose of the turbo. It works as a heat exchanger. and as someone else said, the pressure drop is minimal, so even if the air does expand and cool, it returns back to its original pressure thus heating back up again.

NAh bro my mates cousins uncles sisters boyfriend swear by intercoolers, he reckons that you can get up to 60Hp extra with the use of an intercooler and a Hiclone installed between the pod and the intercooler on non turbo carz.
I trust the bloke hes a 1st year apprentice but his bloody good at tafe and all that and jimbo down at jimmys gargage reckons his the best apprentice since the guy who passed highschool who worked for him, so you know his a genuine bloke mate!

Maybe some of you should have a read of this.

It might clarify some of the 'misconceptions'. Furthermore, there are a number of good articles on the SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) that are available.

If something gets 'cooler' it condenses. I think water>ice is like the only exception to that.

Man why stop with just an interfooler, if you're all about power why don't you get a roof scoop and a big fuck off spoiler because with all that extra HP your gonna be LOOSE!

did u ever think when u see a p plater driving a car with a cooler it might actually be turbo? rather then asuming its not with a fake cooler? just cos ur on p's doesnt mean u are uncapable of owning, buying or driving a turboed car regrdless of the law.

no because p platers arent dumb enough to put a big shiny intercooler on their turbo car because thats just screaming "PULL ME OVER THEN BEND ME OVER" all the cars we are talking about are actually n/a cars even admitted by the owners
if theyre gonna run a cooler they atleast spray it black

mate just a point on your setup.... i really hope you have a bigass pod on there.
with such a long fairly thin pipe with soo many bends and a small or even medium sized pod i seriously think you would have a decent pressure drop. i reckon would pay to get soem fittings and one of them water Magnehelic gauges to test it out.
