:bowrofl: I've been looking for body kits for Mitsubishi Magna's and I can't really find any, besides stock, vrx or ralliart body kits. Can anyone help with finding a sweet kit or individual front bar, skirts and rear bumper?

I found this front bar which I like, But they want over $500+ postage for it.

You do realize its only a magna? Why not spend your money elsewhere.

$500 is pretty cheap, it's not like these kits would be a huge seller.

happycamper - Really? Was that needed? Each to his own mate.

astro boy - Yeah I thought that'd be the case, thanks anyway.

Does anyone know what parts fit on a 98 Magna?

seriously, its only a magna. its not worth the money. but even though you won't listen anyway, I recommend just getting a VRX kit. There cheap and will give you resell value as it is a genuine part.

There is nothing wrong with a Magna. Ignore these @#$!s. Bodykits are quite hard and expensive to come by for them. Have you considered getting a Ralliart or VRX kit?

I have been trying to find a wrecked one for parts, I'd like the VRX's shirts and rear bumper but I like the front bar I found online better than any other's that I could find.

This

When it comes time to resale you'll get better money with a tastefully modified Magna with a factory aero then one riced up with a cheap backyard kit.

And to be honest my house mates lowered VRX with stock aero looks better then the kit you've posted

Ahh. Yeah, hard to come by.

As for the people saying don't bother, it's just a magna.. Go fuck yourselves. You are what's wrong with the car scene in Australia.

No wonder every wanker is driving around in a s13 or a skyline or a commodore. It's because you wankers give them shit for their individual preference. He wants a nice looking comfortable car. Maybe he isn't interested in getting 10 second quarters and all that other shit.

I drive a TR Magna and I fucking love my car.

Keep looking dude, you will find something. Weigh up your options though. It MAY be cheaper (if you're set on keeping a magna) to actually buy a nice VRX and then use your car as spare parts, than it would be to kit out your magna individually.

Not many modified cars getting around that actually make the owner money..

Modifying any car no matter what it is will not gain you anything other then performance gains, aesthetic looks and self satisfaction.

Though I do agree, modifying a magna is even more pointless.

if you are handy enough with fibreglass and car bog you can sometimes find kits off other cars and make them fit your car. i warn you though its a hard process and if not done absolutley perfectly with lots of care and time taken it will look like shit. also choosing the right kit with similar style is a must. e.g. dont put a vy kit on it like evry second dickhead.

Well they have problems.. What car doesn't? Magna problems of that era mainly stemmed around the transmission.
WRX have a "glass clutch" as people call it, yet they are still good cars.

So generally speaking, no, there's nothing wrong with a Magna.

I know the car in the video & whats behind it, I've read his build thread on the Magna forums. I actually own a Magna myself as a daily driver, an 03. Also had an 05 for a while with the updated headlight / tail light package, but preferred the 03 with the older engine.

I agree, there really is nothing wrong with a Magna. Cheap parts, reliable (some have had trany problems but every car has a weakness) and great fuel economy. If I were to mod one, I'd only bother with the AWD models. I know of one up here, turbo with over 400hp, basic bolt ons. Great car.

At least you have half a brain. Actually more than half :bowrofl: Haha. Your comment on them being worthless due to crap resale value is fair. I wasn't aiming at that. It's more the people who are saying that it's just a waste of money. If you buy a 5 grand car and put a lot of effort into it and are happy with it, keep it for a long time and enjoy driving it, then it's not a waste of money. Maybe resale is shit but that isn't always an issue. I plan on buying a car in 2013, doing a lot of work to it, and keeping it for 10+ years (if it lasts that long) I have no intention of selling it on and buying something else. Resale value to me (and possibly OP) means sweet fuck all.

I would even consider buying an AWD Magna, but it seems they are generally quite hard to get. Looks aren't everything but I can't stand the boulet front on the newer Magnas. I would want one similar to OP's (I used to work for Mitsubishi and I can't even remember model names) but an AWD. I can't seem to find any in Victoria though. Maybe in 2 years I will have more luck finding one. Or something else. But yeah, I like Magna's a lot. One of the better, reliable vehicles and you don't often see them modified in either looks or performance. Australia needs more Magnas/Camrys/Avalons in the local car scene instead of just Falcons and Commodores.

bodykits for magnas are hard to come by, you could get one from usa from the diamante but itll cost you a fair bit to get it over here otherwise places like jetspeed will do a custom one for you, could be pricey too.

As twat in a hat said, dont listen to all the negativity on here, if you love you magna and want to spend money on it go for it, i owned two magnas in my time, and they have been the most reliable cars ive owned

good luck with it

and yeah aussiemagna is probably your best bet for info

mate hate to tell u but read what the car has its a 6g72 which is a GTO motor not a magna motor and 400hp at front wheels is just stupid for street use oh and if its AWD thats nuts but its still a GTO and more then likely GTO drive gear lol so a magna didnt make that power a GTO did and they just put it into a magna

good luck man not many places doing kits for anything bar the regular imports and stuff like that

V6 Magna over> Most import's p platers own.
Those saying don't mod it need to just relax.

There is an orange one down in nsw with a bodykit that has had alot of effort put into it.
I can't find any pictures though.

BTW I found some kits for you but they are a bit over the top.

I personally wouldn't ever mod a camry but you still had no point.
I have seen bad looking modified Skylines. Silvias, Civics, Commodores, Soarers etc...
Does that mean none of these cars should be modified either?

some one beat me to car mate i love to refer to the magna as the fagna but in all honesty thay can be a great car.

and to the bloke who said the stuf about the magne with the gto engine.

(by your reasoning every skyline with a hybrid engine silvia with a swap is in the same boat) get a life you fuckwit

styler
Post #34

Had a late model one for many years, was a great reliable comfortable daily car...
As for modifying they are a heavy fwd car with bad weight distribution,
not an optimal setup to start off with however there is some awd models which
have more power as well so I have heard.

Good for vip styling, dyno queen shootouts or autosalon but not so good for
street, circuit, rally, autocross, gymkhana or drag racing vs a lot of other
popular or common cars.

Anythings possible though given enough resources - time money and effort but
what you want the car for and what sort of resources you are willing to put into it
will determine whether its possible or not to pull off but its the resources used
vs the result gained that counts the most and magnas generally don't do so well
in this regard...

Yeah there is a magna forum that really gets into these cars and has some
good tech and crazy builds, have seen them racing but some serious resources
go into the really good ones, not for the faint hearted.

I don't see why people dislike you. I agree with this. 2nd post from you I have read and agreed with.

An engine is only as good as the car it's in. So what if it's a swap?
