So for those who haven't read my other thread, i'm taking my car off the road hopefully for no more than 3 or 4 weeks over xmas. I'm taking the engine out, getting a sweet cam and cylinder head from Nathan (wbtonner) in exchange for rust repairs when he requires it and he will be helping install those, regasketing my whole engine, doing the rear main seal, new welsh plugs, possibly water pump, new alternator, ring gear / flywheel if its required or simply fix my starter, and a new torque converter. I'm also going to detail the engine bay, get all new rubbers and bushes for all of the front end parts. Also, repairing all the rust, painting the car in a darker blue (just a closed door respray, since the inside of the doors and door jambs and boot lid look darker than the outside do) and seriously contemplating a white roof with a white visor. Car will also be getting slammed one way or another (thinking of possibly using some xmas money or money from selling FB EK parts to buy HQ steelies, whitewalls and springs off Ash - GTS454, if he hassn't sold them by then). If you are looking for some coin, I need some minor rust repairs on the Monaro done and the single headlight front painted etc. |

My Dad painted our old HR and it came up alright i think. Nick, can you spray? I thought you mentioned that you got your car sprayed for you? Also, its only a stage one cam lol so its not that sweet..... With a different stage one cam and that same head I made 99 rwhp through a manual I've never sprayed a car but as above, my Dad has done one and it came up alright. I've got a mate whos a painter who said he'd be keen to paint but i'll be doing all the sanding and prep work. Lol as for the cam / head.. i'm sure its better than what i'm running haha. I swear i have all of 50hp at the moment. |

That was running rich with a tune by yours truely (just twiddling screws at 17 ) It did pull my head back.... after the seat belt pulled it back after it thought I was braking....Going down Queens rd in Kingston if pulled back to second it would go alright Watched a vid of yours the other day, just chirps it up the street SO EASILY With what, 20% throttle that wasn't chirp... that was full loss of traction!! and the motor had been running for about 15 minutes at that stage. mate was driving it. runs MUCH better than that nowadays and yeah... wasn't full throttle either. |

You have any welders or compressors or anything at yours? I can always bring my Tig down if needed for the rust repairs. If no compressor you could drop the nosecone and paint off here and we'll get it sprayed for you if need be. |

Yeah Phill. might have to see what I can do in this department also!! btw, nice work on the write ups in QLD Streetcar mate. Thanks mate. Yeah, if I am working at the powerplay, it'll actually be a little different than my usual gig. Dont wanna say too much cause it's only a small chance of getting the gig, but would be awesome if I did! Phill |

I'll have a mig at mine and I have a compressor, but might be a bit small maybe for painting? 90% of the rust repairs will be piss easy, minor bubbling doors etc just the drivers side dog leg is the worst of it. |

Holy shit Jordan that thing is incredible... Tho i think you should run a larger rear tyre... or not. Why do you still have the XB when you have a bloody CAMARO? haha, cheers They are a bit wide! Still unsure what I'm doing with the wheels, the ones on there do give it a really tough look. Either way I want the guards flared a little so I can lower the back down a bit. Not tucking under, just not big spaces. Still got a bit of a thing for the XB, plus I'm not overly keen on driving the camaro down to the shops and leaving it with all the tards and their trolleys, so XB will be given the daily duties until (if) I decide to sell it. Plus the camaro is getting stripped down so won't be driving anywhere for a bit. Things are moving along well though! |

Decided that if I keep my Scorp I'll be pissing off the Mitsubishi drivetrain for something with a bit more poke/reliability, and as I want to keep it somewhat in the family I decided on a 318/4spd combo with a 4.11 Hilux diff. |

Oh yep. Sounds good then Ben, let me know when you need it done. Will do, I've moved everything bar the Monaro into the new place now, just having trouble finding a frigging tow truck company that won't charge me a friggen arm and a leg to move it. Worse comes to worse will pick mates trailer up but I've hit that stage that by the time I put fuel in, go get mates trailer, strap it down, bring it back, unstrap, unload, take trailer back etc, it's almost the same cost as getting a towie to do it, and less hassle for me lol. But the price they want for me to retrieve it from my old's place where it was stored whilst we were moving at Woody Point to my place at Loganholme, they want over $200 for. |
