Lets get some cars on the grid first. That's where the problem is Paul. Some like me are fully committed in Street Sprints/hill climb etc etc and in turn have to sacrifice the majority of excel meetings because they clash with other major meetings. Not any ones fault, you just cannot be every where. And to be honest, if you actually ask around, a lot of very keen people are reluctant to construct an excel in any shape or form, until there is a basic set of guidelines, with the specifications for excel racing cars in writing. Turning a blind eye and repeatedly reminding people they can run a stock car, and saying there are a few can do's and cannot do's listed somewhere on a forum under Excel racing or Track Attack, is no consolation to a guy who wants to build a safe car on a budget. |

Ralf I have to disagree I have worked on alot of excels that are getting ready for racing (3 cages this week alone) alot of the guys are on tight budgets and will take sometime to get up and running. Also have helped heaps of guys on set-up as have all the other guys running around every event, 19 cars at the last sprint I think it's going alright and once 10 or so cars start racing you'll see them come out of the woodwork. Hi All, I have just finished building my excel and am looking forward to december 5th for a run. I have fitted a full cage with racing seat and belt. I feel the rules should remain as they are as this gives everyone a cheap sport. As far as tyres I am happy to supply Federal tyres at cost to any excel racer. Regards Great to hear. Well I admit I may have been wrong. If your doing that many cars people must be feeling confident the class is a goer and the rules are fairly well established. Keep up the good work helping people with set up. Ralf I think because alot of the guys and girls are new to the sport it's just going to take time for them to get their cars up and running. Don't stress about it things have a way of working out. We (excel owners) have one of the biggest 1 make series running around at the moment, all we need to do is to make sure we get looked after as a group. |

Mate if you can buy tyres from the moon and have them delivered, as long as they make more than 1 set for your car only, then every one else has the same opportunity to use them so it's not an issue. just do it. It's the same here with Federal Sponsorship, because our drift car and sprint/hill climb car and Excels (in Federal colours)go through as many Federals as a Job Jane outlet, we can buy RSR's at a good price. That does not mean I should use Achilles on the excel's to keep it fair. As for cars fronting with an illegal change mid season, I doubt anyone would even catch them out, but if they ran 5-10 sec faster than their usual times someone will twig, and perhaps the points on that day should be disregarded. At the end of the day we are not playing for a Million $ end of year prize. I wont be there, running the s12 at Noosa Hilclimb. Mind you it's now 8 15 thursday night still making a computer harness and loom for the new adaptronic computer, have a TPS and map censor to do and weld in a new BOV mounting block into the Inter cooler lines then dyno. Scurtineering starts at 12 00 tomorrow 300 km away. Love to rush lol. |

Great work to all the guys that made it to the grid on Sunday, the interest was massive. New lap record to Mr Hyundi himself (Peter from Real Dyno) throwing down a 65.4, great drive Pete. As I said in an earlier post the tow is worth 1 to 1.5 seconds a lap so don't think you need something special to run those time, just great driving on Pete's part. A question was asked by them about springs and why the need to cut down a already lowered spring???eg:king spring etc Off the shelf spring not sufficient? any reasons why the springs need to be cut down more??
