Those prices dont seem too bad...
I mean the XC cost 500ish just for head work so $1200 for both heads and the block work seem decent.
What head work did you get? Just port, polish, shaved and cleaned etc?
Bet it looks nice now tho.. all shiny and new looking!

Getting the datto done 2moro, gunna try to get up at a reasonable time and get the door ready to paint while the guy puts the helicoil in, then while it drys ill put the head and new carby on, bolt everything back together then should be good to go and rego next week *fingers crossed* Im hoping the datto will only take half a day so i can get another door done on the xc. Slowing getting the painting done

Sick of paying 80$ a week in petrol in the AU so will use the datto until i can find a nice ke70 (yes im still set on getting a ke70) then ill sell the au and put the $$ towards the xc, should get me the last of what i need (door rubbers, rest of the exhuast, interior light and all the other small bits and peices) and still some left for the keto

Seen this the otherday, no idea what it is but its pretty well fucked lol. Theres hundreds of these old cars laying around out west, kind of strange really noone owns them.
Any ideas ?
I know where theres a couple of 50's chevs that are very complete and on an old property where the original owner died or somthing, i did some work for the bloke that bought the place and he just wants them gone.
This ones on national park though so im guessing anyone could just go and pick it up, doubt you would get too it though lol.

Trying to decide if I should try to get the single headlight front done before MonaroNats on the 3rd, need to get new fiberglass bonnet, paint nose cone, paint bonnet, get required parts off Ash to complete front, have the GTS stripes painted on etc etc.

yeah, I got to the nostalgias on sunday arvo. not much racing after a couple of incidents up the top end... spent most of the time chatting to people I know. was a good arvo all up.

so 2 weeks to powercruise... so 3 weeks to get the green machine sorted for the nationals... see you this weekend then Ben

Well first I was going to drag it along the M1 from Gold Coast to Brisbane behind the ute, the stand on the gateway with it and throw it under some B doubles. Then once it was of a sufficient structure I was going to stand out the front of schools scaring kids with it. Then set fire to it to try to warp it some more, before finally backing a steamroller over it. Then I was going to hang it from a tree with a noose around it to remind people what happens to ugly front ends.........................

Or I'll sell it.

I think quite the same about those front ends. Everyone i talk to about my Kingswood tells me i should put a prem front end on mine, but the single headlight front is so much better.

Prem / Stato fronts are just fucking ugly.

I should probably clarify my position on them, on a Statesman, they are more than fine, even on some utes as it suits the harsher lines.

However on hq sedan/coupe, no dice baby.
