I've got power steering, thank god, but it throws the belt drifting in the rain :headwall: ........usually when your halfway through a corner and palm steering with one hand....
For my opens (a year when rego runs out in six months), LS2 (turbo if I have the money), T56, 9", Discs all round, either lambo orange or jett black paint, rims (Convo Pro's or Torq Thrust II's / D's...?) and retrim interior with custom dash. OH and build a new timber tray and stain it, in coming weeks.

72 Galaxie - waiting for engine to come back from machine shop so i can start slotting it all back together and refit it - gotta source V8 bellhousing for my C4, and thermo fans. then creat some sort of airbox for my heater etc. hook up my B&M shifter, have the front and rear glass fitted, and im away!
98 VT Commo - new engine is in, just finding a radiator, thermo fans and alternator, and she will be all good to go again after a good service.
99 Hyundai Excel - finish hooking up the gauges, fit the race wheel and boss kit, fit the kings springs and KYBs and swaybars and camber kit, and order tyres. New rotors and some decent pads, and knock up an air induction setup.
83 Fairmont - fit the new ball joints, tie rod ends, radius rod bushes and uni joing so it is roadworthy, then piss it off.
So yeah, got a lil bit on the go...

I'm waiting to hear back from a family friend who's getting his 4 door munro tuned this week at a place on the service road near moss st (fair bit closer than nerang). So pending his feedback I will decide where to go when I get enough K's on it.

I fucked my power sterring as well in my magna.. so pretty much parking or turning while driving slow was a bitch! once i got going it was fine ahha..

As for the Xc still in the process of painting the panels.. making sure it all perfect before i even consider laying the colour (wont lay any colour until everything is ready tho).. so im still pretty much doing the 1st door :| but if i see something even the tiniest thing that i think may show up in the end, i take the door down and fill/sand it until its perfect and go again. Plus with work and everything else havnt had a lot of time to get out there and paint, and now its great weather :| but when i have the time its bloody raining!!! just my luck eyy..

Sister is finally coughing up some $$ so the datto should be back on the road soon, might get the helicoil put in 2moro, then will quickly fix the door, then she just needs to cough up a bit more $$ and i can get the exhaust. Then its ready for rwc/rego and itll be out of the garage and make more room to work in the XC :P

EDIT- So i finally found a adapter for the impco cost more then the carby itself :|.. but now the linkage for the accelerator cable cant go back the whole way coz it hits it :| so i need to somehow fix that problem. Thinking of somehow bending it so it misses the adapter, hopefully it'll all work out alright..

I got a rebuilt mail order Holley from one of the more 'reputable' places in Sydney that advertise in Street Machine.


From the day i bolted it on it gave me nothing but trouble, tried everything to get it right for 6 months, from playing with the jets, timing, every bloody thing - but as soon as it got above 3000rpm it just died in the arse.


Finally cracked it and sent it to the dyno place, fucked around with it for a few hours and still couldnt figure it out - until removed the carb, pulled off the base plate and found that the gasket was leaking! Screwed it all back together and it went like a dream!

i'm not going to name them, but the name rhymes with smaformance pearled

mine was a reconditioned one... missing 1 of the helicoils used to refurbish it, so it pissed fuel everywhere...

Not to sure where or what the place is called, I'll be talking to the guy on the weekend and see how he went, if not, definetly Motacarb.
This might be a stupid question, but should I get my distributor regraphed and my new exhaust done and a catch tank between the rocker cover and the carby before getting it tuned. I'm saying yes.
And can anyone else think of anything to do to a 202 before a tune, things like above, things that I might change?

I cracked it with my old Carby, bought a brand new one, was only $17 more than a remanufactured one???

Sorry to hear that - it's always rough when you gotta get rid of a car you dont want to, but it's not the end of the dream!

There's always other Toranas. Take a bit of time, regroup, save your bucks and start again.

No good, but surely there'd be plenty of old school Aussie iron laying around the back paddocks of Inverell you could snaffle up at a later date.


What kind of op is the old fella having if you dont mind me asking? My old man goes to Sydney for a weeks worth of pre-op tests in 2 weeks before having brain surgery later in the year, getting the same epilepsy surgery Wally Lewis had. Nervous times ahead, because we always thought he never had any brains to begin with!! :(

Yeah its not such a tragedy, infact ive actually got another Torana shell out at a mates farm that ive never had time too pick up. We shall see i guess, wouldnt mind getting myself another Hq or maybe i hate too say it but a Uc.

Dad has somthing wrong with his heart im sorry im not sure what it is but hes had it for years and gets heart palpatations every now and then, Hes just sick of taking the medication and im glad because hell be a completly differnt man once he gets of that shit.

i kinda remember reading somewhere that the yellow/orange sedan that has a tiltfront is the trauma car

its now known as mysti-fire torana built using lx gear :)

Well after much mucking around I have the fabbed covers on now, looks 100% better than before, although new leads are definitely on the cards so they don't protrude over the top of the covers.

Sticking the new fuel rail setup on it tomorrow, redoing the entire fuel system, removing the efi pump and surge tank setup and just running the Carter black from the rear to the fuel rail rather than the overkill it has now.

I probably could, have no interest in doing so though :)
Once the EK is finished (including a two door conversion and roof chop) and the roadster is done, i think i'm done building cars for a long time and will just be cruising them / doing stuff to the Kingswood.

We might be bringing a Model A coupe body back from the states next year, so if that happens i will be doing another build eventually but for the time being its just those two, and my Kingswood.

And that anaconda is disgusting! Good paint job imo, but does not suit the car at all.

Had to pay double rent this week, so a step backwards in the saving-for-old-school-car direction.

Bloke had 4 wheels stolen right out the front of his house last night a few doors down, so keep an eye out for any commodores circling your block!
